Babaman - Raggasonico (2010)

Babaman supera i limiti del reggae made in Italy con Raggasonico. Il nuovo album di una carriera decennale è il simbolo di un'evoluzione costante, sia nello stile al microfono sia nell'incastro di testi mai banali: Baba ormai non si accontenta di calcare sonorità classiche, ma i ritmi scatenati della dance-hall sembrano ormai entrati nel suo repertorio, catapultandolo in alto nell'Olimpo della musica jamaicana di casa nostra insieme ad Africa Unite e Sud Sound System.
Al fianco di un team di produttori guidato da Bassi Maestro, Babaman firma 15 tracce in cui declina tutte le sue skillz senza nessuno sconto: se in Raggasonico i brani spensierati in levare non mancano (Il tempo non conta e Istinto animale su tutti), per soddisfare l'anima riot del suo pubblico illuminato, Baba non poteva che mettere tutta la sua filosofia di vita in questo disco. Ne escono delle perle come Rise Again e Mondo oscuro in cui la visone della realtà che ci circonda non si esaurisce in facili j'accuse ma apre la mente verso un'unica consapevolezza: la musica è fatta per unire e per capire.
Babaman è poi riuscito là dove in pochi hanno anche solamente osato: far suonare il reggae in italiano e guadagnarsi una credibilità crescente nel tempo senza bisogno di rinnegare nulla del suo passato, una dimostrazione di dignità artistica e personale che merita rispetto.

Babaman then succeeded where few have even dared only: to play reggae in Italian and earn credibility over time without increasing need to deny anything of his past, a demonstration of artistic and personal dignity that deserves respect.
