Utter Madness is a greatest hits album by the British pop band Madness, released in 1986 at the time of their original split. It is a sequel of sorts to their earlier compilation Complete Madness (meaning the completed title is interpreted by some fans as "Complete and Utter Madness") and comprises songs from the latter half of their career. Junior Kelly, his newest album, VP's Tough Life, is very very impressive, I'd venture to say his best in a few years and one of his best ever. The opener and title track is one of the highlights and one of the big sound roots anthems you've come to expect from the artist, just big beautiful sounding reggae music. Also check the excellent Rasta Should Be Deeper, again, big anthemic sounding tune with a fantastic message.

You really must get this and all their albums (this is really their third, the first is hard to find). This latest effort captures more of their live show power. "The Nexus" tracks leave me wanting more so I keep it on a loop. Having seem them live, I know they have even more infectious, joyful music to record. So go see them live. Joyful virtuosity. Grammy winner (for 2001's Halfway Tree) Damian "Junior Gong" Marley, the youngest singing son of the immortal Bob and brother of Ziggy, Julian, Stephen and Ky-mani, has made a major splash in the family business. The confrontational title track of his third album (which entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at Number 7, the biggest opening week ever for a reggae artist), deals with vacationing "haves" partying on the backs of increasingly desperate "have-nots." It has fomented a storm of protest from corporate entities who claim that Marley has presented his homeland (or more accurately, their interests) in a negative light. Another high point is "Pimpa's Paradise," a heartbreaker about drugs leading to prostitution, backed by a vulnerable-sounding acoustic guitar.

This is a very good album, one that is unlike most of Inner Circles' earlier stuff. Most of the songs that are on here are also on the album Bad Boys....which in my opinion is a better album because there are less tracks (that are still good) instead of having some filler tracks.
