AVALANCHA is the last album by one of the greatest bands in Latin Rock history. As the album title conveys, herein one will find an inexorable, onrushing mass of emotion, pathos and beauty; a force of nature capable of pverwhelming with its power. Enrique Bunbury marvels with his legendary voice and its tremendous feeling. The masterful guitars and bass by Juan Valdivia and Joaquin Cardiel respectively are mesmerizing, capable of gothic metal riffs and gypsy melodies. Pedro Andreu delivers a laudable performance as drummer. The complex, poignant lyrics and multilayered significance within each song is a testament to the band's incredible talent.
It seems incredible that such powerful themes are explored with such intensity, and accompanied by some of the greatest music by a Spanish band that is mostly unknown outside of Latin America. One is not far from the truth when proclaiming Héroes del Silencio one of the greatest rock bands of all time. This album is an experience one can not afford to miss. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
