Led Zeppelin 2 Classic Records Vinyl Needle Drop 24bit/96khz

Led Zeppelin is an english rock band from the 1970's. Their 2nd album, Led Zeppelin 2, 1970, is the one which launched them into the limelight and led to several mainstream hits, such as "Whole Lotta Love", "What is and What Should Never Be", "Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid", and, of course, "Ramble On". Their fusion of hard rock, blues, and outright innovation [or black blues thievery depending on who you ask] made this album essentially a hit list of songs that would receive heavy radio airplay for years to come. Unfortunatly, heavy distortion, though to be a result of recording or mastering at too high a volume [running the transients into the red] has resulted in many of the more intense moments, particularly Bonham's ballistic drum runs, sounding flabby and unpleasant. I must mention that despite Classic records best efforts, this distortion, which is now known to be part of the actual master tape [though apparently the multi's do not suffer from this], is still present. Classic Records co., who mastered this release, is a record mastering company specializing in audiophile Vinyl pressings [like this 200gram 33rpm example] using a custom all tube cutting and mastering process from the original master tapes. They [CR] seek to perfectly replicate the original vinyl pressings in both sound and asthetics [cover art, liner notes, even paper texture, down to a creepy level of detail usually], while eliminating surface noise and gaining new clarity and quality of acoustics compared to standard releases. Very similar to MFSL in almost every meaningful regard, vinyl only obviously.

A note from me, the uploader: Guys I enjoy sharing this stuff [most of which was not created by me] a lot, and I have many more needle drops to share, but I would really appreciate if even one other person would share some of these with us. Hell, any high res needle drops [at least 16bit 44.1 khz is high res in my book] are welcome, I get lots of thanks for these, lots of people are seeing the benefits of a well made and well played [played on a decent TT] record, so if you have em', share em. If you have a MFSL Led Zeppelin 2 record, or, the holy grail of This Album, a Robert Ludwig mastered vinyl [reported to be free of the distortion present in EVERY other release of LZ 2 ever, ever] I would be so appreciative I'd do anything I could for you, except perhaps anal. "The album was recorded during a hectic and much-traveled period of the band's career from January through August 1969, when they completed four European and three American concert tours. Each song was separately recorded, mixed and produced at various studios in the UK and the U.S. The finished tracks reflect the raw, evolving sound of the band and their innovations as live performers.

It has been suggested that Led Zeppelin II largely writes the blueprint for 1970s hard rock.[1] Blues-derived songs like "Whole Lotta Love", "Heartbreaker", "The Lemon Song" and "Bring It on Home" are now standards of the genre, where the guitar-based riff (rather than vocal chorus or verses) defines the song and provides the key hook. Such arrangements and emphasis were at the time atypical in popular music. As such, the album is generally considered to be very influential on the development of rock music, being an early forerunner of heavy metal, and inspiring a host of other rock bands including Van Halen and Guns N' Roses."
