Red Hot Chili Peppers – Road Trippin' Through Time - The Chili Peppers are due to release their 10th studio album soon, and perhaps as part of the fanfare around that milestone release, or perhaps, more prosaically, to refamiliarise listeners with their sound after the break since the last album, they’ve decided to fill the gap with this “Best Of” collection. It may prove to be a bit much in the same time period for shoppers with a limited budget, but Road Trippin’... does what the best hits collections always do – remind you just how much of your life has been soundtracked by a particular band. There are 18 songs here, and at least half of those – Give It Away, Under The Bridge, Around The World, Aeroplane, Otherside, Californication and By The Way among them – will, courtesy of their wide chart, party and mix-tape (those were the days) crossover appeal, take any listener over 25 right back to school, university or whatever other context they were in when this music was playing.
