Front

Led Zeppelin - 2
nm early japanese pressing (~1972) / P-10101 A
Mastered by Bob Ludwig

Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz | FLAC | cue, m3u & Log | Artwork
~ 840 mb incl. recovery | RS & FF | Rock | 1969

Allmusic.com rating: 5 out of 5 Stars Review!

While Led Zeppelin II doesn't have the eclecticism of the group's debut, it's arguably more influential. After all, nearly every one of the hundreds of Zeppelin imitators used this record, with its lack of dynamics and its pummeling riffs, as a blueprint. - Stephen Thomas Erlewine/AMG

Absolutely right, aksman: You all should know this album ... ! When the album was released, I only could afford the single "Whole Lotta Love" (without the - let´s say - "psychedelic" middle in it) and I do remember how astonished I was, when I heard the LP´s (longer) version the first time. Anyway, as always aksman, you are giving away a little gem for me / us and I just say a big "Thank you"!

After reading the comments on
http://avaxhome.ws/music/rock/ledzeppelintwo_p10101a_lp.html
my guess is, that this is not a re-rip but a re-post of the album. Is this right?

You got it, just a repost because all links has been gone...

I hope the links would remain alive until tomorrow; I missed it the previous time, as they were removed very quickly. After Dr. Robert's, Aksman's uploads seem to have been the target of the trolls recently.

Thank you very much for your efforts! A redbook version would be nice too. To compare it to the very good sounding version of http://avaxhome.ws/music/audiophile/LZEP2RL.html would be interesting.

THANK YOU SIR AKSMAN !

Does anybody know, if this version sounds as good or better than the pbthal Rip of the US LP mastered by RL?

Which software would be needed to dither and downsample this Rip here to redbook?
Posted By: aksman Date: 10 Nov 2009 15:22:51
@radam40

Which one you like more you have to decide for yourself i guess... I had the best results in resampling in dithering with iZotope RX Advanced and UV122HR (add-on for Wavelab). iZotope is not so difficult to find...

Thanks Aksman for your fast help, I will try iZotope then!

@radam40
For me, the US RL 1st press sound better than this LP(Strangely the one I have is not a RL!!!).
Posted By: radam40 Date: 10 Nov 2009 17:45:49
You are meaning the pbthal rip of the US RL 1st press or the orginal vinyl? Sorry, but I'm confused now...but you don't have a RL? How could you have heard it then?
Posted By: Kel bazar Date: 10 Nov 2009 18:08:44
@radam40
Yes I prefer the pbthal one, and yes I have the same jap pressing, but there is not RL on the deadwax of mine, and he sound not so better than the pbthal one. I buy this one after read that he is also mastered by Bob Ludwig, but I was disapointed whith the sound result :(
Posted By: radam40 Date: 10 Nov 2009 18:16:12
@ Kel bazar
thanks, now I got it! I'm sorry for you, buying the jap pressing with no RL in the deadwax and the inferior sound :(.....
