| “ | The story of Iron Man goes a little like this. Guitarist Alfred Morris is one of the world's leading students of Tony Iommi's guitar sound and style. He formed the band Force in the seventies, which recorded a good bit of material available in semi-authorized form. That band evolved into a pure Sabbath cover band, which in turn evolved into Iron Man. This is their debut album, a record of thick, though hardly slothful metal that shows off Morris' remarkable doom tones, which are sometimes frankly frightening in their similarity to Mr. Iommi. Overall this is a very heavy Sabbath influenced album, let down only by a lack of truly memorable songs and the vocals, which could be a lot better. But those guitars, man! Heavy as sledgehammer to the face! | ” |
