MOBILE FIDELITY SOUND LAB | VINYLRIP | DR.EBETTS |

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL, or "MoFi") is a company that produces audiophile releases of classic CDs and vinyl records.

Many commercial CDs undergo dynamic range compression in order to sound "louder" when played on radio or low-end systems. Some consider this detrimental to the sound quality when reproduced on high-quality equipment. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab releases are highly desirable due to their attention to detail concerning the audio mastering process. Some of the techniques used are half-speed mastering and pressing gold-plated CDs. MFSL also releases record albums meant to be played at 45 RPM instead of the standard 33? RPM, for better sound quality. These albums must be released on two or three discs, as less music can be held at increased speed.

MFSL only acquires the license to reproduce releases for a specific time period, and because of the limited quantities produced, they are highly sought after.

The Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Philosophy:

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab's ongoing quest is to deliver the foremost sounding audio entertainment software that technological innovation can provide. From our first UHQRâ„¢ vinyl LP to our latest Ultradisc UHRâ„¢ SACD, we have been and will remain a steadfast innovator in the audiophile frontier. We further believe that technological development serves best when accompanied by a profound awareness and appreciation for the elusive magic and mystery that comprises music itself. Our greatest hope is that our products will serve as conduits for ears ands souls to experience premium, pure, natural sound reproduction of diverse, pre-eminent original master recordings across the entire musical spectrum.

thanks for Beatles, but that f...ing commercial rapidshe - is it possible to make more friendly mirrors?
Posted By: jspaceman Date: 30 Aug 2006 17:49:16
@misiek

Rapidshare is the norm for uploading files as they offer the best services. They really can't be beaten for speed, check how fast a file downloads from RS compared to say Megaupload.

Also I am uploading onto a RS Premium Account, so naturally I want to use only RS.

There are ways round RS limits, you could use a proxy server program such as Proxy Switcher, then you'd be able to bypass the time restrictions.

Wonderful thank you !

The collection of ' standards ' I believe is only missing Revolver, Rubber Soul, Let it Be and the White Album ( not sure if this was ever on MFSL ).
There is also a Hey Jude album although I think this was only released in the US.

@daveza

Yeah, you are correct that those are now the only missing ones to this wonderful collection of MFSL albums we have going on at Avax.
The "White Album" was given the MFSL treatment too.

I'll be posting the rest of the set soon. :))

too bad rubber soul was not MSFLed. but to be honest, i think it is the BEST sounding EMI CD release of the bunch. it even had, if i remember correctly, a ADD logo indicating a full digital mastering and remixing. thank you so much jspaceman! i have unearthed a very cool beatles cd that i am uploading as we type. cheers!!!

@jspaceman:
oh dear lord... IT WAS MFSLed!?!?!? let's brace ourselves then. i think that was the last (not that is was bad) coherent album from the beatles and it had form and shape on it's own, from the first to the last track and the sonic texture it has is breathtaking... calm before the storm that the ASTONISHING REVOLVER was... and on to much wilder and irreverent experimenting on the world's ears and conciousness. =) thank you jspaceman, really!

don't get me talking beatle-wise cause i may never stop!

I can hardly express my gratitude for the time and effort put into these MFSL posts -- by the posters and the admin. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I have grabbed more than a few of these excellent disks and enjoy each of them immensely!

I will be awaiting "The White Album" ... drooooooooooooling!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you ALL!!

(ps -- I finally figured out why I could not post my thanks in the past -- I needed to use IE as Opera doesn't seem fully compatible with Avaxhome.)

Posted By: jspaceman Date: 07 Sep 2006 22:49:09
@daveza

Not yet, I have been really busy the last few days and didn't manage to get it up. Some of the files are on RS already but I have a few more to upload before I can publish the links.
I'll try to get it up by the weekend.
