Regards,
ls..
If you don’t have the original CD or its image to encode, don’t post such garbage picked up God knows where.
I’ve downloaded only parts 1, 2 and 3, and checked with spectral analyzer tracks 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15.
Source for tracks 10 and 13 is MP3 or Ogg. I don’t know the rest, I’m not downloading the other parts.
@lateshift
You're welcome.
@Higi
Thanks for your observation. All that trouble just for this humble CD. Is it worth it? Don't like it, don't download it! Simple.
After 49 publications, yours is the first criticism that I've ever received from another AvaxHome member regarding a publication. Which makes it extremely exciting for me. But, would you mind make your point clear so I can try to help you. I'm usually not very good with handling rushed and unintelligent complaints.
Oh, yeah, the CD is real. I could throw it at you and I promise it will definitely do you damage. Have you ever had a paper-cut?
So, what seems to be the problem? Please explain.
1 - CD = Compact Disc
2 - FAKE = Fraudulent, not genuine, not real.
3 - GARBAGE = Trash, refuse, rubbish, material to throw away.
4 - SPECTRAL ANALYZER = That’s not easy… Ok, it’s a small box plenty of electronics components connected nowadays to a PC (personal computer) used to analyze waveforms, spectrum frequencies of acoustical sources (optics and electrical too).
5 - SOURCE = Origin from witch it comes.
6 - TRACKS = In this case, defined parts of a recording.
7 - TRACK 10 = Part or title number 10
8 - TRACK 13 = Same as precedent, but 13
9 - MP3 = Comes from “MPEG Audio Layer-3”, a digital audio compressing system that, saying it simple, “cuts” high and low frequencies to reduce the file size.
10 - OGG = Another audio compressing system, with different algorithm with respectable better sound as point 9.
To facts:
I downloaded your complete post (parts 1 to 7), decompress them with Winrar.
Loaded Tracks (see point 6) on the Spectral Analyzer (point 4).
The frequency response on Track 10 (point 7) and Track 13 (point 8) are responses of MP3 (point 9) or Ogg (point 10).
That means the recording or encoding Source (point 5) for these two Tracks is MP3. In other words, someone (I’m not saying “You” as a respectable Avaxian) made this CD (point 1) or recompilation, part from CDDA (CD audio format, sorry, this is point 11) and part from MP3, that will remain always MP3 (frequencies of 400 to 12.000 Hz) no matter if it’s encoded or decoded to Wav, Ape or Flac, the frequency will be the same or worst. The missing spectrum from 20 to 400 Hz in the low and 12.000 to 22.000 in the higher segments, do not exist any more with the MP3 compression.
Hearing MP3 or MP3 to CDDA in a Hi Fi system is obscene even to uneducated ears.
In some Countries, up to 30% of legally bought CD’s (point 1 + plural) in Music Stores are Fake (point2).
As a Spectral Analyzer is too expensive and useless for home users, I recommend you a little program “Tau Analyzer”, http://www.true-audio.com, to search for Garbage (point 3) in your CD collection. Its works fine, don’t gives much technical information but “Is CDDA or MPEG”.
If you find “more” of these Fake CD’s, you can go to your Music Store or dealer and throw them at them with the consequential damage.
With your teenage reaction, there’s a teeny possibility that you knows very well what you’re doing, in that case, could you explain me a little about paper-cut?
So, That’s all, C’est tout, Es ist alles, È tutto, Es Todo
But, here we go...
Hang on, let me just read your reply one more time. Please wait... Btw, it reminds me of how I used to write out my maths solutions. Not a mathematician are you?
Thank-you again for showing such great interest in my humble post. Let me get this right. You've invested so much of your time in working out if I had acquired a genuine or a "FAKE CD" or if I did have any “original CD or its image to encode” at all. (Mine does come with a jewel case and a thick booklet, does that help? ) NOW, I understand. Not that you were accusing me of up-converting ogg's or mp3's or "garbage" that I have "picked up from God knows where" to APE files. You see, I thought you were doing just that. Try reading your own post again and hopefully you will see where I'm coming from. If it was meant to convey a constructive attitude then you could have certainly worded it differently and less provocatively. It just had an attitude.
So, first I was angry at your accusations, now I'm confused and angry at the record store that I purchased this CD from. I'm going back to them and try to get a refund for it. Now that I’ve got a copy of it for myself, it’s a win-win situation. Would you mind coming with me with the SPECTRAL ANALYZER you mentioned and try to explain to them all that? They might think I'm having another "teenage reaction" otherwise. Only thing, I might have lost my receipt. I did purchase it in 1992! Also, as the results of free music from places such as AvaxHome, the record store has now closed down. Or, did I borrow this CD from the local library and “forgot” to return it. Try explaining the fake thing to them. Actually, better, if I get to borrow your SPECTRAL ANALYZER so I can test all my existing CDs (refunds for those too, I bet!) and, may be, take it with me every time I decide on getting a new CD. How big is it? Carrying it around could be embarrassing.
So, how much did the SPECTRAL ANALYZER cost? I bet it's expensive. If you can afford that, why bother with mp3's or ogg's or APE's in the first place. Just go buy a REAL CD, from a reliable source, and stop downloading sh1ts from the internet. When, you do have the REAL stuff, can you share them with us? Thanks in advance. I think we will like you. And while you're at it, could you check other music publications from other Avaxian members as well and mark them as FAKE or REAL so we know which is safe to download.
“I downloaded your complete post (parts 1 to 7), decompress them with Winrar.”
Hang on, after all that analysing and you still let yourself download the other parts? WTF.
Hope I wasn't reacting like a kid again I tend to do that towards certain type of people. I’m sure that if you continue with that attitude, then one day someone will give you their own version of a paper-cut. Have a nice life.
thats what i call keeping calm.
It did raise my blood level just a little.
