I've had this CD for over five years, and it's one of my all-time favorites. I originally heard "Jhoole Jhoole Lal" (not "Thoole Thoole Lal" as listed on the Amazon track list) by Nusrat Faten Ali Khan on college radio, and had to buy the CD just based on that one song. I was not disappointed.

All the songs are in languages I do not speak at all, yet the music, voices, and production values are so good it's a non-issue. I've listened to this CD easily 100+ times, and each time it's just as good, just as fresh, and I can pick out little nuances here and there that I don't remember from before.

My second favorite track ("Jhoole Jhoole Lal" still being #1) is probably "La Mentira" by Ana Belen. Great song.

If you look up each individual artist on Amazon, all their albums get 4-5 stars. Nusrat Faten Ali Khan, Natacha Atlas, Uman, Ana Belen, Mercedes Sosa, et al. So not only is this a collection of top-notch, very well-reviewed artists, but it's also some of their best songs. It's also a great introduction to expand your collection with some of these artists' CDs.
