Yes - Relayer | MP3 320Kb | 90.8Mb
| “ | Yes had fallen out of critical favor with Tales From Topographic Oceans, a two-record set of four songs that reviewers found indulgent. But they had not fallen out of the Top Ten, and so they had little incentive to curb their musical ambitiousness. Relayer, released 11 months after Tales, was a single-disc, two-song album, its music organized into suites that alternated abrasive, rhythmically dense instrumental sections featuring solos for the various instruments with delicate vocal and choral sections featuring poetic lyrics devoted to spiritual imagery. Such compositions seemed intended to provide an interesting musical landscape over which the listener might travel, and enough Yes fans did that to make Relayer a Top Ten, gold-selling hit, though critics continued to complain about the lack of concise, coherent song structures. | ” |

TNX Serial!
Good idea to create a list of all Yes publications. But didn't you learn from the SantanaHome list to show some respect to ALL (hehe) the great uploaders and include their names in the list? :-)))
You are right about let the other uploaders get their
credits. Havent even get permision to put the link
at my posting :-)
The list was an service for the downers. Its not
so easy to get around here these days and if you
try to search on the word "Yes" you will get a lot
to look thru.
Hope there will be more names to put on the list,
but i dont think so. Most peoples are like hungry
animals. Havent even time to say thank. So my
hopes for making Yes collection complete here at
Avax are very low today.
Thanks for the stars Bully. They others dont have
time for such things you know....
I know it's easy to have just to copy the links and download without a message of "Merci".
So, I would like to say at least on time : THANKS for this marvelous job and for sharing.
Merci encore pour cette série de YES !!!
P.
Try the musicshop!
Maybe i will pack together the coverpics i have used and up them later when im finished with the Yes project. (that will be soon i guess. im tired of hole avax). Dont have any pics myself in my musicfolders. I just play the music and dont look at the folders....
"But Alejx, i know where my folders are. Dont see the problem???"
Hehehehe. The problem is very easy. For people like you and me, who know what a harddisk is and how to manage it ourrself by creating meaningful folder structures, there is no need for such visual "helpers". But did you ever visit friends without engineering background? Had a look on their harddisks? 300 GB dirves without any partitioning, without logial structure? The typical IE users who save files on the desktop, click them to start winrar wihthout knowing where the unpacked files are going to? You know what i mean? Can you now understand Alejx? :-)))
BTW, also I do not have any need for tiny "folder pictures" - there are other ways to further slowdown MS Windows :-) - I also would like to have the covers in good quality inside the archives.Special if you look back to the great cover art we had on our old vinyls - a cover somehow is part of the album.
Begin at the lower end of scale; " did you ever visit friends without engineering background? Had a look on their harddisks"
Its terrible Bully. Dont have words for it. Just want to wipe their disks :-)))
Covers was another thing. Was, cause they disappeared slowly after i sold my vinyls and began building up my CD collection. When i ripped the same CDs to my HD covers was history. The only contact i have with covers these days you see yourself at this site...
But, back in the good old days when the vinyl was mounted at my Well Tempered Turnable and my very modified Van Den Hul pickup sent the signals into my tubed MC-amp, before it was ending up in some New York Audio Labs (J. Futtermann) equipment, who powered up my Infinitys. (that was long :-)) )
Then in these days and nights i was an cover-fanatic. Dont know how many albums thats was ending up in my collectin just because the cover :-)))
Not all the music inside an Roger Dean drawing are ment to be listen at :-)))
Just now when thinking at the subject, im longing for that time again.... Hell, that was fantastic. S/N ratio around 50-60 db, cratches, hum and the noise from the tubes and on top of that it sounded so great.
And a full day job just to tune in the shit. I took 10 minutes only to get the vinyl ready to put down the needle.
Those was the days man :-)))
"Its terrible Bully. Dont have words for it. Just want to wipe their disks :-)))"
Yep. Still not udnerstanding Alejx's needs?? :-))
"... after i sold my vinyls ..."
Oh boy ... no words for this ... at least YOU hould know the difference between analog and sampled digital ...
"... my very modified Van Den Hul pickup ..."
Ah, yes, of course. What else for Serial. Grashopper or Frog? Modified? Now, please don't tell me you re-wired the coil :-) Nah, a bit to high priced for me. The last I mounted was an AKG P8ES - ok, at least a very well Bully-hand-selected one. I checked about 75 of them (they had original measurement diagrams from AKG) until I bought "my one" :-)
"... New York Audio Labs (J. Futtermann) equipment ... "
Strange. From you I would have exspected a "Serial" amp equipment :-))
"... my Infinitys ..."
Yeah, I also had some eyes - oops, ears - on Infinity. Somehow I came up with ESS - their so called Heil-Air-Motion-Transformer did catch me on the high frequencies which my ears like so much :-)
"And a full day job just to tune in the shit."
Yep, that was the most fun :-) I even bought me a portable frequency analyzer and walked with it around the room. Moving around couch and other items which influenced the high frequencies. When I finally reached the point where I wanted to clue some foam in the big window - the glass of the window had a very bad resonance frquency! - someone told me "Either the window or me!!" (or in other words: perfect sound or sex) I finally let the window how it was. That she was the same reason I never bought such wonderful Klipsch horns should be clear to you :-))
"I took 10 minutes only to get the vinyl ready to put down the needle."
Hey, that's a very good time! Just 10 mins for cheching, cleaning, antistatic and bringing the vinyl to the correct temperature for playback? Wow!
Yep, somehow a good vinyl is like a good bottle of wine :-) But lasts much longer :-)))
"S/N ratio around 50-60 db"
Oops, yes, S/N drove me crazy that days. Not only on turntables :-) Special on tapes. Even at 38 cm/sec (half-track) my Tandberg drove me crazy. So I finally bought a DBX 128 (expander / compressor) to increase S/N ratio. Yep, the S/N was much better. But on the other hand I clearly heard the "breathing" of the DBX. Argghhh ...
BTW, I still also have 2 DBX encoded vinyls! Don't ask me which ones. I didn't bought them because of the artists, I only bought them because they were DBX encoded. :-) One is a gospel album and the other one some japanese jazz.
What i was trying to tell about the divorsing covers and music, is that one thing is to sit there in an HiFi-asylum (Ø. Sunde) and hold the cover in your hands and feel it. An other thing is when the cover just are an picture in an machine. You have just your eyes to feel it with. I dont now how many factors your missing just looking at it (weight, thickness and a lot of words i dont know).
I can see the connection between cover and music inside. Its an delivered as an package.
Back in old days, as described abowe, im sure the cover was doing thing to my exprience of the music.
If all my records was delivered in grey covers i had to listen more to the music and sound, like i do today.
An friend of mine and i was often talking about how an artist or record company could give out an album with that cover they had chosen. Many are those albums i bought that i for any price not would see.
Nooo, im happy without covers today. Like my "chicks" that way too :-)))
"when I contacted an old girlfriend of you that came to Canary"
No way man. My girlfriends dont do Canary, and old girlfriends do i not have :-)))
This must be another person or me so young that i forgot.....
Like also clean desktops. When i have all my windows closed one day, i shall send you an dump.
Like that Oldfieldish wall on yours. But so many icons....
And you have to get into your pc box now and then.
All the dust settles in my fur when im in there. But watch out if you are an cat as i am. Always earthconnector. The catfur can be very static you see :-)))
Seeing how much effort and time you spent in the publication of your desktop, it's now fully clear to me why you still did not start re-upping the Kuschelrock at 320 Kbps :-)))
@ Serial
"No way man. My girlfriends dont do Canary, and old girlfriends do i not have :-)))"
Great that you understood that he was talking about your girlfriend :-)))
"This must be another person or me so young that i forgot....."
Yeah, guess you also tell this to everyone knocking at your cave door saying "Hi Dad!"
