There are 2 versions released. Image Grabber {IG} and Image Grabber II {IGII}.
Both versions use DirectX.
What this basically means is that, if you can play it, you can screencap it. Image grabber II is the newer one and it gives you more control over the selection of screenshots. IGII also allows you to take screenshots from several videos and combine them all into one picture. You can also preview videos within the program. However, the original IG is still good and if you don't really care about the screenshot selection, this one would be a faster tool to use. Also both programs will run even if you don't install it.

For IGII you actually just need the program folder but an install program has been included for convenience. Both supports avi, mpg, and several other formats. {For IG - rename .vob to .mpg if you encounter errors with the VOB files} By just taking a screenshot with IG or IGII and enabling the details and the info labels in options, the downloaders can have a general idea about the quality of the file, and even its contents. a big thank you to gizliben for this very useful program.
