I found that the Siemens NX6 version 6.0.0.21 including a license file covers many advanced features as NX Adv Designer, NX Adv Mach CAM etc. But a license file attached in Siemens NX6 version 6.0.0.24 is limited only standard features.

To utup007

1. Have you installed previous version of NX (4,5,6x) in your computer ?
If yes then please carefully check Environment Variables.

I found that the default port of NX 4/5 in a license file is fixed 27000@host but the default port of nx 6 in this license file is 28000@host.

2.Check other Environment Variables like UGII_BASE_DIR, UGII_LICENSE_FILE and UGII_ROOT_DIR

3. Could you start Server and reread license file completely by using LMtools ?

Thank you for your comments.
I just found the installation for the license server is missing in my upload NX 6.0.0.21.
I will upload this from other DVD.

However you can use the license server (LMTOOLS by Macrovision Corpation)
from other versions to run the given license file.

In my upload image DVD includes a PDF file named in Chinese at the root directory.
You can rename it and open to see a pictorial instruction to run the license server.

To arifulancer,

We can use the licensing installation server (LMTOOLS by Macrovision Corpation) to run a license server wih the license file given. The version of the licensing installation server does not matter.

The server name shown in the PDF can be any word like "abc". It is just a service name.

You did not edit the header of license file given.

SERVER "Yourservername" ANY 28000

"Yourservername" must be your computer name.

This process is same in all NX2-6. Therefore I do not mention about it.
Next, you must shut down the server and re-read the modified license file and start the server again.

thank you Boss for the original share, I did some diagnostics on my license server and it claims all license options exired on 31-jul-2008. This could very well be the other peoples problem that installed the 6.0.0.21 version. In any event I will download Darthvader's post of 6.0.0.24 and hope for better luck on the license date!.......thanks all

Sorry I did not check that the license will be expired. However, the server license can run if roll back the computer time clock to be said period (31-jul-2008).

I am looking another license file and will post it here soon.

Hello from South America I was able to install the NX6 without any problem .... but when I try to open it I get nothing not charge anything, I use Windows Vista Home Premium .... have any idea what the problem is?

what are the minimum requirements for nx6 to run seamlessly on Windows Vista?

Could someone upload it on RS.com because I can't download from ed2k-files because I'm behind a router (which isn't mine).

32bit and maybe 64bit, too.

segitary : I found that it uses LMTOOLS so I guess (because I have never installed NX6) that you should install NX6
then
Use lmtools.exe to setup licensing service (lmtools -> "Config Services" tab):
3.1 Service name - "NX6 License Service" (e.g.)
3.2 Path to lmgrd.exe - "inst_drive: \License\lmgrd.exe"
3.3 Path to the lic. file - Maybe license.dat ???(I do not recall the name of the license file )
you need to open the file and substitute yourhostname with your computer name
3.4 Path to the debug log file - "\License\nx6.log" (open notepad and creat a .log file)
3.5 Check "Use Services"
3.6 Check "Start Server at Power Up"
3.7 "Start/Stop/Reread" tab -> Start Server
4. enter 27003@your_host_name when asked for lic. server

This is the basic procedure I use when lmtools is needed. Since I have abaqus using lmtools it is conflicting with nx6 (I guess), can anyone please help me install it having the machine running other applications with lmtools also?
