FL Studio 9.1 is still better than Pro Tools anyway, as the saying goes: pro tools is old tools. The main reason I wanted to have PT was b/c of the MDW plugin, it is pretty useful being able to solo an EQ band. I don't know of any VSTi plugins that do that. Now my next question is: is there any way to run OSX on a PC through VMWare Workstation 7??? Anyone know? Avaxklan? (

I've d/l the "xvx readme" maybe due at my bad english I can't understad if it works with Digi 002/003 cards and if it has the ability to really open TDM plugs.

OK, I have it now... This is MP with some HD options, not wery usefull to LE, or MP users, still the same because there is no two BIG differences, VDC and TDM support. It's ok for people who want to try Pro Tools, nothing that revolutionary for LE users.
On the other hand, There is option to use it without Emulator for M Audio users, and I don't know why there is not support for LE users to use their 002/003, It's not included and when using emulator we have two latency numbers, one in emulator, and another in aplication. I hope next time XVX will introduce as with LE version of this, I would like to call it Music Production Toolkit 2! :)

Well, different things for me... I'm mainly working with ProTools LE and I'm not interested with the HD version, but as a LE User I have found two interesting toys in the XVX package (open it with right-clic) : the MP3 option and the TL Space Reverb.
They work fine in LE, and for the TL Space you can download freely IR packages on the Digidesign site.
Recommended to LE Users !

So (at last for my own need), a great THX to the Klan & thumb up! (again) to the XVX Team !

For what I can gather reading around there is no ADC, don't works with Digi cards (002/003) and do not open the TDM plugs (I hope not to be mistaken).

The mp3 option and TL Space works with my LE system (i have to uninstall HD and Re-intall my legal LE), so does the Soundcode Dolby E. The complete production toolkit gets installed but it does not work. bummer, because the "XVX PT HD" is almost the same than PT LE with the Complete production toolkit.

i must be the biggest noob ever. i've tried copying and pasting the pw and typing it in and i still cant get it unpacked. help :(

when i try to play something it says : A CPU overload error occured. If this happens often, try increasing the ''H/W Buffer Size'' in the Playback Engine Dialog, or removeing some plug-ins. (-6101) - I haven't loaded any plugins, there is only one track and my mac is Intel quad core Q6600 @ 3.6 ghz... any help????

An interesting thing about all this is the opportunity to work with the internal sound card, without having to buy a miserable Mbox Micro or another card just to work in Pro Tools, besides having to take one of two USB ports your computer.

The use of a good interface is necessary for recording or mixing, but in the case of editing audio, midi composing, premixing... this contribution is really great, because with just your laptop and your Pro Tools cracked can work perfectly.

I have one Macbook Pro Core i5, a Digi 003 mixer and a life that requires me to spend much time away from home.

After much testing I managed to run Pro Tools HD Hardware XVX with the emulator and on the other hand Pro Tools LE with Digi 003.

I suppose there must be many people in my same situation, so I'll share my experience:

First, it is very important that XVX Pro Tools HD and Pro Tools LE match with the same version (8.0.3cs2).

This topic is not an exact protocol, but something that I have seen is that the last major step should be to update the legal version of Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 cs2.

To do this, install the legal version of Pro Tools LE, once installation is complete, restart and after restarting rename the folder Digidesign (eg Digidesgin LE), you can install the version of Pro Tools HD Avax.

This way we have done to have Pro Tools HD and Pro Tools LE executable files.

Following completion of two installations, copy the original executable file from Pro Tools LE to the folder / Digidesign / Pro Tools / Where the executable files for Pro Tools HD and Pro Tools MP.

Apply all the patches of Avax and ready, Pro Tools HD, LE and MP together ...

In the case of Pro Tools LE does not work, simply run the software update for Pro Tools LE 8.0.3cs2 with this should work perfectly.

You should also copy the contents extra Creative Pro Tools Collection.

Logically, if you want to work with your card Digi002, 003, Mbox2 etc... you need to open Pro Tools LE version...

In case you have opened the hardware emulator Avax, something interesting is that you can select the engine with which you want to work on Pro Tools LE, therefore, when you open it in the LE version, please go to Setup> Playback Engine .
In the top tab you will see that you have the option to select the hardware emulator Avax or your card (in my case, Digi 003).

The problem is with this transaction for which we mixer version is that you have to restart Pro Tools to recognize the mixer. To do this, when you open Pro Tools LE, I recommend you disable the hardware emulator Avax.

Running with the option Avax emulator Hardware and Pro Tools HD I have seen it quite stable, one can sometimes hear some drops, but it's going pretty well.

Something I'm missing is the option to ADC (automatic delay compesation), but I guess we can continue to live without it.

As discussed in the readme file is a beta version quite advanced and it shows.
Personally I think a step Avax spectacular and have ensured that Pro Tools is a more versatile product.

I think Digidesign should consider its trade policy, which is pretty aggressive ...

Want more channels, pay more.
Want timecode, you pay more.
Want to edit or add multiple video track, then you pay more.
Want ADC, still paying more.

And on the other hand, one morning, a business manager of Avid wake up and thinks:
Why do not we stop supporting the original Mbox?.
Sure .... Go idea ... If we do, all users who continue to have their Mbox Original (although they continue to operate) will have to buy another one ... And money, money, money.....

So ... Avax Thank You Very Much ...

so, i´ve been playing arround and this is what i got:

- install PT LE 8.0.3
- install Update to cs2
- Rename "digidesign" folder to "digidesign LE"
- install PT HD AVAX WITHOUT coreaudio
- Move the PT LE executable file to de digidesign/protools folder
- Run the Crack, emulator, mp3 option, Complete bundle , etc

At this point, you can use PT HD XVX with the emulator, but PT LE and the Mbox does not work. install the update to cs2 and you should be set.

Now PT HD , PT LE and the Mbox are working. PT HD with the emulator and PT LE with the Mbox.

What you can do now is, with PTHD opened, in the XvX emulator set the output to the Mbox and use your Mbox with PT HD XvX.

That seems to work fine here. i´ll mix a couple of tracks and let you know how it goes.

Now the new interesting twist.

With that setup running, if i intall just the PT HD CRACK again i loose PT LE (wont open), BUT i can open PT HD Xvx with the mbox. (without the emulator runing). the sessions work, but the problem is that i cant get audio out the mbox.

So, it makes sense now that in the PDF readme, says "If you chose to install the XVX Hardware Emulator device" meaning that the crack probably was originally thought to work directly with digidesign interfaces.

i run 10.5.8 , and @lacenko has 10.6.3 , so maybe thats it?

anyone here with PT HD Xvx working just with a digidesign hardware (no emulator)? Speak OUT!

Meanwhile, I had probs getting this release to play nice with my 002, but I'll try the aforementioned suggestions & hope for the best. Given that the 002 mixer, BLA-modded 003 Rack, & MBox2 Mini I own all bear the label "Digidesign", which suddenly no longer exists (does Avid stand for "avid cost increases" or "avidly fleecing our costumers"?), I guess I've been legacied along with all those original MBox owners. But now, having both discovered (& finally paid for) the joys of Reaper, & having been freed from Digi's hardware dictatorship by XVX, I guess I'll stop avidly offering up upgrade money in homage to the Pro Tools hegemony.

& seriously, try Reaper. Get your fully functional, fully customizable, unlimited demo now. The Avid crew must be insane if they think their business model will withstand competition from the likes of Cockos.

I´m triying to get original MBox working, but with my operating system (10.6.3), it´s not possible...
I´ve tried to test with old Digidesign CoreAudio (8.0.0) but it crashes everytime.
I´ve tried to connect XVX Hardware emulator with Mbox but it crashes too.

So I hope that Avax maybe try to gives support for old Mbox users.

Reaper is a great software, but nothing compares with Pro Tools.

I work as a sound engineer in a recording studio. Pro Tools is a versatile tool for recording, editing, mixing and mastering.
Apart from that the vast majority of professional studios use Pro Tools. This makes it an indispensable tool to share projects.

In my case, as I said, I have Digi 003 mixer at home, Mbox and a macbook pro and it is quite common to have to edit my sessions away from home.
I have purchased many plugins, Waves packages, SPL, Reel Tape Suite, MCDsp and more. Besides purchasing the Mbox long few months ago the Digi 003 mixer.

But I absolutely refuse to pay more to Digidesign, simply because their business is to make more money...

I tried midi working in Pro Tools HD with XVX Emulator and works well. I´m using an Akai LPK 25 keyboard.

I need to try Pro Tools LE with Digi 003 midi connection... But i hope it works...

Sometime there´re some midi problems with Pro Tools but reinstalling solve problems. But this is not a problem of the cracked version.

I recommend that everybody make a full backup of a clean working installation, including library/audio/Midi Drivers folder.

It works great even on my MacBook! But I can't create a Surround 5.1 session! Only stereo 2 channel even if I make 5.1 in XVX speaker setup! Any ideas?

First check the buffer size of input and output. Note that this driver is designed as an intermediary between Pro Tools and what you hear.

In addition, it is advisable to record using a Digidesign-qualified interface ...
XVX have done a spectacular job and everything will be a matter of time ... But so far as they recommend, for professional use you should use a more appropriate hardware.

i just wanna know if XVX its going to create a fix for 002 or 003 rack and mixer.....

I saw your post telling us that you can now work with your original LE and the XVX HD version.
I installed the XVX version (following yours directions in the comments) and it's working nice, except for the latency (which was already expected) and i can even use my Mbox 2 hardware with the XVX emulator or a Firestudio Lightpipe Setup that i have. Both worked nice.
But when i try to use the MBox 2 with the original PT LE wiht or without the XVX emulator, everytime i try to open the PT LE executable (that i COPIED FROM the new named folder "DIGIDESIGN LE", that you suggested, to the new folder that PT HD XVX Version created-"DIGIDESIGN"- or the original file in the the "DIGIDESIGN LE" folder) i get those PACE messages telling that some required software extension are missing and the PT LE crashes.
If i try to run the PT LE executable (that is the original one, in the now named "DIGIDESIGN LE" folder) i get the same thing.

My doubt is: If now i uninstall both the version of PT (Original PT LE 8.0.3 cs2 and PT HD XVX) and reinstall them (the original PT LE is an 8.0 version, then i'll ran an upgrade to 8.0.3), when will be the time to upgrade this PT LE 8.0.3 to cs2? Before installing the PT HD XVX or after everything?

My goal is to use the PT HD with my MBox 2. Do i need the XVX Emulator to do that?

Somebody said at the comments that you have to install the XVX version without CoreAudio drivers. That is true?

As I understood it, the main problem you have is that the system can not find the PACE extensions... So download and install the InterLok Extensions Installer.

The website for downloading the Interlok drivers is: http://www.paceap.com/
At the top right of the web you'll see a download link Interlock Extensions Macintosh drivers.

Don´t worry about this installation, although it´s an anti-crack service still works perfectly with all the Pro Tools plugins (legal and illegal:)

Once you installed these drivers, reboot and try running Pro Tools ... If it does not work, just try installing the latest update CS
(Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 cs2)...

With this everything should work well. Even so, test the performance of Pro Tools HD XVX with the Mbox, I would like to know more about the level of stability, since I still prefer to continue using the LE version for my Digi 003 and the incredible driver for the card XVX internal sound Macbook pro ...

Thanks for sharing your secrets (& arrabal thanks for asking your questions)! I can report that PTHD 8 XVX is now working (on my non-essential partition, of course) with my MBP running 10.5.8! I can use PTHD 8 XVX with either my MBox2 Mini or the internal soundcard via the XVX panel. I can also run PTLE 8 with my 003 from the same partition without needing to reboot, although I did need to quit the XVX Panel app to get PTLE 8 to function with the 003. That said, my 003 & PTHD 8 XVX don't play together well at all. Which is fine since I'm still running PTLE 8 with the 003 on my primary partition anyway.

So again, excellent, helpful troubleshooting! Kudos!

As to the differences between Pro Tools & Reaper... well, Pro Tools is to digital audio what Windows XP was to desktop computing: the de facto standard against which everything else is measured. But Digi-cum-Avid (can I call it dAvid?) probably spends more time these days losing fans than gaining them. I possess three Digi interfaces but not a shred of affection for or loyalty to dAvid. Nor, I suspect, do you. Case in point: I recently watched an old friend who runs a PTHD/Logic studio plunk a couple grand on a Magma PCI chassis to connect his Digi PCI-x card to his new Mac Pro. He did this because dAvid was going to charge him EVEN MORE simply to REPLACE his PCI-x cards with PCI-e. As I'm sure you know, the PCI-e card provides essentially NO additional functionality, but does give dAvid another chance to stick it to its customers, since the Power Mac G5-based PCI-x format is incompatible with the Mac Pro, and the Power Mac G5 is increasingly incompatible with the computing demands of a modern digital recording studio.

I'm (obviously) still addicted to Pro Tools, but given the rate at which some manufacturers are issuing low cost upgrades to their products (the improvements in Reaper that have occurred in the two years since I first demo'd it are pretty impressive) over time - years, not months - dAvid stands to lose big, because of the company's tightfisted, short-sighted, monopolistic practices. Just think about it: Digidesign doesn't exist anymore?! Why?!

We both know the answer to that: so dAvid can "legacy" our product lines and blackmail us for more cash...

I installed the version 1.01 of the XVX Emulator and it is still better. The latency has lowered and the lowest buffer sizes from XVX Emulator Panel are very usable. The link is in my big post upthere. It ran perfect on MacBook 10.5.8 and on an iMac 2.66 10.6.3. Some users have reported the encountered some trouble. I did not.

Checking ... Both version 1.0.1 and version 1.2 are problems ... I suppose it's a matter of days so that they get a version a little more stable.
Anyway, you can return to the previous version.

For some reason when I try to open the mini grand, boom, xpand 2 I get a message that says "factory content not found, please locate content file Xpand.big" How do I get a hold of the samples, or where are they located? I've looked everywhere and can't find them.

Still can't find the content files for boom,mini grand, and xpand 2. They're not in /Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools Creative Collection/. I've reistalled many times, and when checking the status, everytime it says "installed creative collection" and takes 5 minutes or so on this. Is there anyway to just post the xpand2.big, mini grand.big, boom.big files alone? Maybe something went wrong when I downloaded, but all the file sizes match (200MB) save the 14th one. Really don't want to re download everything, as my internet is capped. Help!! and Thanks xvx, dreams can come true.

NOTE!! This wipes out the Pace drivers needed to run your legit ilok-powered instruments. My East West Play and Motu products don't work anymore because they need the paces drivers wiped out by this install. Hopefully there will be a fix.

I have a PowerPC Mac G5. Installation of Protools works but not the XVX application. Is there a chance to have a PowerPc version of the XVX install ? It would be great to use this software without having to purchase a new computer...

if you use this emulator, you have to buy intel processor mac or you should construct hackosx computer..

does it work with any soundcard? like RME or MOTU?

Probably works, because the XVX driver is recognized m-audio sound card by your OS. (by the way I have TC Electronics Twin impact sound card) but if you haven't any sound card, you can use onboard sound card.. Please read "Protools Release Notes-README.pdf" in the emulator folder, you are going to find your and other question' answers...

Hi I installed this but there's just a couple of weird things going on.

1. In the piano roll window scrolling up and down or clicking a couple of notes causes Pro Tools to make this quick black flashes
2. Now and then when playing the sound would randomly start distorting and then I stop and play again, then it's fine again.
3. I practice guitar with Pro Tools running just the standard click track and suddenly it would give me a error 6101 that the CPU is being overloaded. I did increase the HW Buffer and haven't tested for very long so for now seems to have gone away, but what's bugging me is this:
If the click track alone caused a 6101 error on a 128 HW Buffer, what's gonna happen with a library such as EWQL Symphonic Orchestra?

2) Yes i have same problem, even though i tried many combination of installation. I hope this will be fixed.
3) you uncheck Host Engine (ignore errors during playback or record) under the "playback engine" menu. If your Mac's (or pc, as i'm using hackintosh PC :D ) have enough installed capacity, HW buffers should be set 512 samples..
4) you must be "sudo", so "super user" in terminal:

1) Unpack
2) Run Install.app
3) If you have issues installing, try opening terminal and running
the install.command as a super-user
(i.e. cd /path/to/install/folder
sudo ./install.command)
4) If you receive an error saying XVXDevice couldn't be loaded,
because one with same uuid is already loaded, that means you must
reboot after it's installed.

Conflict xvc-emulator and mbox2

Hi, i tried and tried - there is a description above but i wanst able to run LE and HD Crack in Parallel.

I would like to be able to choose whether i run with mbox(LE) and withoug(HD)

Anytime one installation overwrites something essential of the other one...

did anybody manage and would be so kind to write a little step by step tut ?

Or is there a fix ? Or a newer emulator ?

Would be very helpful...because i would like to rely on the stable synchronicity of LE but have all the nice feautures of HD.

I get in "incorrect password" often but then I just use a different program to extract and it works.
Stuffit gives me some password errors and then I try unrarx. always works.

Big thanks for xVx Team for all the great release and Avaxklan for this space.
PT HD/Mpowered works great. I had to find the .big file missing but anyone can get it from the net or original PT disk.
The only problem i have so far is for the pfl/afl bus. PT is asking for the surround mixer plug in. I looked in the plug in folder and both stereomixer.dpm and surroundmixer.dpm are there. Any idea? Is it normal? I tried to replace them with some found in a working PTHD station but still the same. Any suggestion?

or when protools is asking the missing files, you should show first installed plugins where in the directory. (for example: in applications. maybe?)

Hey everyone I have gotten everything to pretty much work flawlessly on this release on a lot of trial an error. There is one problem I am having though, every time I try to import anything, whether its just drag and drop or using the import dialog box, pro tools automatically just crashes on me. Can anybody help with this problem, or has anyone else had the same one, because I am not able to work on client's projects because I can't import any audio or video. Thanks a lot guys.

PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS :

(once definitely unrarred, ABSOLUTELY DON'T rename the folder or put it into other folders, just try to move the "unit-folder" "as-it- is" on the desktop, where your eventual DVD backup is going to take source, cuz you need to not mess-up directories & paths here)

B) before to start, perform this little test*** :

Just because as you do any error in this procedure , you're probably psychologically forced to re-install all from scratch, (it took me two days to find the correct steps order and I rebooted iMac at least 100 times, hearing that horrible startup sound "BBBHHHOOOO!!!"and that's the only thing I would change of this wonderful machine),then apart to be very concentrate on all the steps, there's this thing you MUST do, before starting installing Pro Tools HD 8, as it's very messing-up if you fail it after having installed quite all. As I said before about the XVX Hardware emulator V.1.2, if its installer application, whether launched from terminal or not, does not recognize the path or directory of the folder it's included in, IT WOULD FAIL the installation…
So, to avoid this, before starting installing everything, assure yourself of the following things:
- DON'T RENAME THE UNRARRED FOLDER which contains this 1.2 version_
- DON'T PUT IT INTO ANOTHER FOLDER, ALREADY EXISTING OR BY YOU CREATED, JUST LEAVE IT in the folder of its downloading and unrarring ( which I presume is the "Download" folder, in HD / Users / (Administrator) path )
- IF YOU WISH TO MOVE IT, JUST ONLY TRY TO MOVE THIS UNRARRED FOLDER TO THE DESKTOP, for the purpose of monitoring all the folders included in an eventual backup dvd I know you're all gonna think to make,like me.…but if you're not interested in that, leave it as it is in the root folder, but remember that a well-burnt dvd is like a diamond, so it's forever, and reinstalling from a "closed" device, after hours of discarded hard disk folders & icons, is BIG satisfaction.
So if you pass this test, the probability to have a working cracked Pro Tools HD 8 for Mbox2 is quite big, unless you do other step-errors.

Just do this : from any place the XVX Hardware Emulator V. 1.2 folder could be site, open it and launch its "install.command" terminal application / then look at the scripts in the terminal and assure yourself that you DON'T FIND written something like "no such directory found" or any other path errors or whatsoever, as in these cases the installation of the panel and of its components WOULD NOT WORK…it means that either you renamed the original folder of the application, or you put the folder into other folders or places , messing up its path identification. If it happens, download again the Rar archive, unrar it again and try again, paying attention to not rename it or put it elsewhere, but try again not before having repaired the permissions with "kext utility" and rebooted_
Instead, if the terminal script does not contain any weird messages, and pressing <ENTER> after your administrator password you receive a successful response and a log out, you're probably done, but please control if after this step the "XVXDeviceLoader" has appeared in the folder named " StartupItems ", in " HD / Library " path, AND if the "XVXDevice.kext" has appeared in the folder named "Extensions", in "HD / System / Library" path. In fact, if directory errors occurred, the only installed component will be the mere XVX Panel, and NOT the device & kext_
Last step for this test is to trash both the XVX Panel (HD / Applications) and the two components mentioned above (as they are NOT the 1st step of the utter installation, but only a test)/ then empty the bin / then repair the permissions with "kext utility" / then reboot_

CRACKING PRO TOOLS HD 8 ON MBOX2 (pt.2)


INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR MBOX2 :

1. Launch PACE ILOK installer ( macextsx.dmg ) / then repair permissions with "Kext Utility" / then reboot_

2. Launch the original PRO TOOLS HD 8.03 (CS2) installer ( NOT THE CRACK ), that is included in the XVX 2,8Gb package commented here (the chosen installer is the one with number 2) / then reboot_
(Please control that "DAE.framework" icon (the Digidesign icon which seems like a robotic machine component with pipes) is APPEARING in the "Frameworks" folder, in "HD / Library" path)

3. Repair permissions with "Kext Utility" / then launch PRO TOOLS LE 8 CORE AUDIO installer, named " CoreAudio_Installer_v803_64550.dmg " (it should be the Mbox2, Mbox2 Pro, 002, 003…etc family official driver at version 8.03) / then reboot_
(Please control that "DAE.framework" icon is STILL PRESENT in the "Frameworks" folder, in "HD / Library" path)

4. Repair permissions with "Kext Utility" / then launch XVX PRO TOOLS 8 HD/MP CRACK, that is included in this XVX 2,8Gb package (the chosen installer this time is the one with number 3, and looks like a green packed gift,) / then FIRSTLY choose to install ONLY the HD / MP crack (option number 1)_
(After installing the crack, please control if "DAE.framework" icon has been REPLACED by a fake, like Paul is, in the "Frameworks" folder, in "HD / Library" path)(the new icon looks like a white 2x2 LEGO little brick)

5. Pay attention now: install ONE BY ONE all the extras supported by this cracked package, ticking off step-by-step the option already installed in the previous step and monitoring inside the appropriate folders their effective pop-up , but AVOID TO INSTALL the following options:
" 2) XVX Panel (Hardware Emulator) " ----- (this application to me is ONLY a panel, with no real active "XVXDeviceLoader" and "XVXDevice.kext" inside it, and it could mess up the permissions and the paths where the real WORKING panel (the update), and its related startup item and the kext, are going to be installed further)
" 6) SoundCode For Dolby E " ------ (this one makes appear that fucking "N-MON" application icon on "HD/Application", and unless you have it, it messes you up with a pop-up window that says your N-Mon.kext hasn't been correctly installed and things like that…VERY DISTURBANT, cuz it makes you think you're proceeding wrong, while everything is OK, and you get paranoid….but obviously if someone know how to make it works, and especially HOW to install it correctly, please tell me !!)

6. Exit this fucking installer (I've opened it at least 100 times in 2 days, but I really appreciate the song inside, with the tempo changes and the stops) / then repair permissions again with "Kext Utility" / then reboot_

7. At long last, open "XVX.Digidesign.Hardware.Emulatorv1.2.OSX.iNTEL-XVX" folder, already unrarred, and run the "install.command" terminal application, as you did before during the above mentioned test/ then insert your own administrator password in the terminal / then press ENTER / then exit terminal and repair permissions again with "Kext Utility" / then reboot_
(Please control AGAIN if after this step the "XVXDeviceLoader" has appeared in the folder named " StartupItems ", in " HD / Library " path, AND if the "XVXDevice.kext" has appeared in the folder named "Extensions", in "HD / System / Library" path, AND finally if the "XVX Panel" has appeared in HD/Applications)_

8. Go to the folder named "Extensions" in the "HD / System / Library" path / then find the generated "XVXDevice.kext" (is the last one probably in your list) / then TRASH it (inserting your password) / then empty the bin / then repair permissions with "Kext Utility" / then reboot_

9. Open "XVX.Digidesign.Hardware.Emulator.v1.0.1.OSX.iNTEL-XVX" folder / then COPY the "XVXDevice.kext" (not drag'n'drop) _

10. Go to the folder named "Extensions" in "HD / System / Library" path again / then PASTE the previously copied "XVXDevice.kext" (not drag'n'drop) inside "Extensions" folder (so inserting your password again) / then repair permissions with "Kext Utility" again / then reboot_

11. Start XVX Panel (site in "HD / Application" path) / then control in "audio setup" if your Mbox2 is avaiable as soundcard, and assign it Input,Output and Effects ability ( anyway all this things should be automatically selected at this point) / then choose in XVX Panel "Mbox2" as Input & Output device _

12. Start Pro Tools HD, load an LE session or whatever MP fucking hell one, and just tweak & adjust Buffer Size both in Pro Tools and in XVX Panel as you like (even if it seems that the "master" panel has become the XVX one, and I'M HAPPY OF IT !!!). I now have NO problems, at any buffer size_
No guys, probably you don't believe me, but I need to repeat this thing, cuz you talk about what's the correct settings of the buffer size, 256, 512...? No really, to me there's no difference anymore. IT REALLY WORKS PERFECTLY FROM 64 to 2048, changing it during playback of my songs at anytime I want, NO ISSUES ANYMORE, and playing the song for hours in loop mode, I still haven't heard a pop or click....

LAST STEP. MAKE MUSIC FOREVER_

Only 4 last things to say, in the end:

⁃ a) The combination of version 1.2 Panel & Device with version 1.01 Kext, gave me the best results, as someone very before me had already noticed on his own setup…For what I tested, it has been working REALLY FLAWLESSLY. I'm IMPRESSED by XVX_

This written by the friend is in short what you have to do from step 7 to step 12. I simply used 14 lines to explain something he explained in 1 line, so I simply "stretched" this masterpiece of ermetism. He also find the space to thank ! Please take the line he wrote and stamp it by fire in your mind, be it your forever prayer, your newest enlighting mantra, cuz he really solved the puzzle...REMEMBER: "Instal 1.2 /replace kext from 1.0.1 / kext utility 2.4.2 / reboot". That was the trick...if now PTHD8.03cs2 has been really cracked, this is the 1st correct way appeared to make it work perfectly on Mbox2, fullstop_
And then the other part of the puzzle was that "DAE.Framework" icon, replaced by the "Lego brick" one, just after installing the crack, making you think that the Mbox2 audio core could have probably been "annihilated" by that, so leading you to reinstall the Core over the crack, steps inversion, thus instead annihilating the crack itself. The result of inverting the steps (so Crack between PTHD8 and Core) was the message at PTHD8 startup that was unable to locate the audio device...the correct installation (so Core between PTHD8 and Crack) was intended NOT to annihilate the Core by the Crack, but only to MODIFY and ADAPT it to new software, and this could explain the "robotic" icon disappearing (it was no more the same core as before...it became a LEGO)_

⁃ b) In my opinion, about 002,003, and other platforms of the same family, the trick is to keep more or less this order of installation, but tweeking and trying different combinations of different versions of XVXDeviceLoaders and XVXDevice.kext and find the best results, till won't be released a perfect version by Team XVX. In any case, for Mbox2, actually methinks that the presence of the both components from the same version of the Hardware Emulator cause distortion issues, especially with version 1.2, and really I can't understand the magic behind HOW, just copy-pasting the kext from version 1.01 inside this one, the sound from AWFUL becomes so CLEAN.

- c) As I supposed, If you plan to create a backup data dvd as I did ( I burned it with Toast 10), launching the version 1.2 directly from the dvd leads to directory issues.
Simply install everything else from the data dvd, following the same order, but this particular application must be copy-pasted or drag'n'drop from the dvd to the desktop and launched from there...and as usual don't forget to repair permissions an reboot.

⁃ d) I made this ridicolous tutorial full of words only to please me, having a "recap" of this absurd situation, a 2-days INFERNO which have been "summed up" in this post…there's people here so smart that arrived to the solution in very short times, so they don't need this…but I'm not so smart, and my only strenght is forbearance and tenacity, cuz I loved to have 100 more tracks and those features of High Definition, so I HAD TO HAVE THEM AT ANY COST. I hope that people could find help with this and I wait only for… "It works!!" …" YES, it works!"…" End of iLok empire!!!"…." Poor Digi..", those kind of ironic things_

Digi, this is the abomination of capitalism, and a victory for the Poor Ones like me...long live rock'n'roll and Team XVX. Finger crossed for ADC, when you've that, the mission's accomplished_

The load up works, not with an Mbox or 002 or 003. I work at various studios, I get to try all over the course of a day. But i'm enjoying all the little gems this site is loaded with. I believe in Team XVX :) GO TEAM GO!!!

I tried to record a midi track with VELVET and it's ok
I tried to record a bass line into an audio track and it's ok
try to patch your Mbox2 with the patcher, but uninstall the panel before, repair permissions and reboot...in theory that's a fully working release and should replace the panels ,that are betas...actually either I launch XVX panel or not, either I set the HW buffer from pro tools or not, everything just work fine, no glitches,pops or distortion... I can say I notice that the pop-up windows with written inside "HW buffer error, try set other buffers", appear more often than when I had normal LE... but probably cuz of airport connected....

Apart that in the moment I posted this "tutorial", with the advent of the patcher, it has become completely useless (the tutorial)...but don't you think that icon looks like a little 2x2 white LEGO brick, like the white ones used to build up LEGO hospital?

I just tested version 1.0 of XVX emulator on PC with iATKOS S3 snow leopard 10.6.4 and RME Fireface 800 and it works very well , thanks XVX it's amazing ! I've able to open projects made with protools 8 LE without any problem.

I'm wondering if anybody has been able to use a 24 I/O setup or larger with PT XVX? it seems like this protools HD is based on PT MP and it limits your ins and outs to 18 like the original protools M-powered

has anyone tested pro tools on snow leopard 10.6.4 so far? does it work? i'm still sticking with 10.6.3 since i heard 10.6.4 needs another version of the patched framework file. i'd like to know if someone found out how to fix this.

I downloaded and installed this two days ago and, after about an hour of tinkering got the emulator working with my Audio-box interface. Since then I've been unable to recreate whatever routing scheme I hit on and can no longer get sound of any kind (either through the audio-box or imported files) to play in either m-powered or HD. Can anyone give me a quick run down of the basic set up for my OSX 10.6.7 system sound settings to the xvx panel to pro tools?
