Version 1.5 sees the acclaimed e-piano software reach a new level in realism and dynamic playability. The four classic electric pianos have been refined in almost every detail, and their range expanded with 16 new and stunningly authentic instrument presets. Now based on the KONTAKT 2 engine, ELEKTRIK PIANO 1.5 boasts many additional features for an uniquely vivid sound - plus Intel Mac compatibility. ELEKTRIK PIANO 1.5 has a brand new engine under the hood. Based on the super-powerful KONTAKT 2 - Native Instruments' award winning sampler engine, ELEKTRIK PIANO 1.5 now features greater stability, much faster loading times, host automation capacity, an improved voice allocation algorithm, thoroughly reworked 'authentic' patches, and numerous other small improvements from version 1.

New Instruments

ELEKTRIK PIANO 1.5 comes with 16 astounding new "Authentic Instruments" presets (four for each piano). All instruments have been carefully redesigned, reproducing the dynamic feel of the original keyboards to the fullest extent. “Authentic Instruments” presets can also be imparted with even greater level of depth and warmth, thanks to the brand new impulse-response room and cabinet simulations.

New Effects

The A200, MK1 and MK2 instruments now include a tremolo effect which can be controlled via MIDI and mod-wheel as well as allowing for automation in your host sequencer. Additionally, instrument presets with different tremolo amount settings can be combined in a single performance.

The E7 instruments now include a mod-wheel controllable Wah-Wah effect, a “Sound” knob which will switch through 10 different sound settings and a sustain pedal emulating the E7’s characteristic damper mechanism.

More Choice

New options for setting the dynamic range and random values for velocity, volume, and pitch have been added, giving ELEKTRIK PIANO 1.5 an exquisitely 'organic' feel.

More Realism

Also new in version 1.5 is the redesigned voice allocation algorithm which not only reduces CPU usage but also authentically replicates the mechanical workings of a real electric piano.

Intel-Mac ready

ELEKTRIK PIANO is now Intel Mac compatible - the Universal Binary update is included in version 1.5.

1.5 Release Notes:

ELEKTRIK PIANO 1.5 uses the existing samples from the 1.0 version (NKS files inside the library path), i.e. you need to have the old version installed with at least the stand-alone version and the library in order to run this update.

As ELEKTRIK PIANO 1.5 has a new engine, it is unable to read the instruments, performance data or host projects from Version 1. Nevertheless, you can continue to use your previous ELEKTRIK PIANO 1.0 version in parallel to work with your previous projects.

Install in this order:

1) Native.Instruments.Elektrik.Piano.v1.0.HYBRiD.READ.NFO-DELiRiUM.
2) Native.Instruments.Elektrik.Piano.v1.5.VSTi.DXi.RTAS-AMPLiFY.
-- or Native.Instruments.Elektrik.Piano.v1.5.0.008.VSTi.RTAS.AU.UPDATE.MAC.OSX.UB-DYNAMiCS.
3) Configure the library path to the v1.0 Elektrik Piano Library (Options button).
4) Restart the instrument.
5) If you have problems with the library try: Remove all instruments. (in v1.5, File button). then configure the library path.

Some report problems with this update: Native.Instruments.Elektrik.Piano.VSTi.DXi.RTAS.v1.5r4-AMPLiFY. I included it if you want to try it.

Avaxklan, thank you very much but could you help please:
with the 1.0 Hybrid,
after unRar-ing, when I mount:
should each folder 'CD1', 'CD2', etc, go onto a SEPARATE virtual drive,
or the same one?
and: will i need to mount the .sfv files?
installation runs smoothly until installer asks to put CD2 into drive. that's a library .nks file as i recall.
when i try to open this on a separate virtual drive,
installation breaks down.
i get a message something like: 'not enough memory'....

If anyone is having problems with the library when you first open the app... I had the same problem with it saying the library wasn't there and then it wouldn't let me OK the dialog window. I also had a problem when I tried to install the 1.5 update in that it would start copying the files and immediately quit. I could successfully install the Dynamic 1.5 update but then I got the library errors when I opened the app. What I had to do was go to Native Instruments website and go to their support/downloads area and there is an OSX 10.5/10.6 patch for NI installers because sometimes they don't work with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Once I DLed that and applied it to the NI 1.5 update, it installed just fine. Then I installed the Dynamics 1.5 installer on top of it and EP opened without any problems. I didn't even have to re-assign the Instruments Library.

So here is the steps I took that worked: (OS X only)

1) install contents of 'Native.Instruments.Elektrik.Piano.v1.0.HYBRiD.READ.NFO-DELiRiUM' folder (I used Toast to mount the .bin images)
2) download patch here: http://co.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=freeupdates#Utilities (it's the last one in the utilities section)
3) open NI Elektrik Piano 1.5.0 Update.dmg in the 'Native.Instruments.Elektrik.Piano.v1.5.0.008.VSTi.RTAS.AU.UPDATE.MAC.OSX.UB-DYNAMiCS' folder
4) from that .dmg file, drag installer onto desktop
5) run installer patch (this will also run the actual 1.5 update installer too)
6) install the Elektrik Piano v1.5.0.dmg from the 'Native.Instruments.Elektrik.Piano.v1.5.0.008.VSTi.RTAS.AU.UPDATE.MAC.OSX.UB-DYNAMiCS' folder
7) open Elektrik Piano 1.5 app in your applications folder

When I opened the app, it didn't ask me to re-assign the Library. Everything worked great!
