The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984)

Everything about this movie is amazing. It's incredibly imaginative, unique, bizarre, strange. The characters are colorful and fun to watch. Buckaroo Banzai is just endlessly entertaining. There's always something going on that will always make you wonder what's going to happen next. I tell you, if it weren't for the excellent performance of Peter Weller as Buckaroo Banzai, John Lithgow would totally steal this show, and he almost does many, many times.

Buckaroo Banzai is literally science fiction as a very sublime art. The movie is hilarious but not because the characters are trying to be, it's hilarious because the performances are so great and the dialogue is so ridiculously memorable and hilarious: "where are we going?" "PLANET 10" "WHEN?!" "REAL SOON!".

The remarkable imagination at work throughout this film is nothing short of what makes a film a cult classic.
Buckaroo Banzai is one of the coolest characters ever, followed closely by many other characters in this film.
Yes... this movie is that good. So don't miss out.

Buckaroo Banzai (et Les Chevaliers de Hong Kong, bien sûr) représente une exceptionnelle bizarrerie échappée des années '80 qui ne connut pas vraiment de succès dans notre beau pays, faute de distribution correcte, et aussi faute de goût doit on admettre. Etre fan de Buckaroo, c'est admettre qu'on a jamais renié son âge mental de môme de 10 ans et que les comics sont à la base de tous les bons scénarios. Accessoirement, si l'on est capable de simplement regarder un film sans systématiquement chercher à le démonter, ça marche aussi...
