The Root of All Evil? - Richard Dawkins' Documentaries

Atheism is just another religion so arguing the tenants of other faiths using your own as a yardstick makes him look as foolish as he is. He is an Atheist first and a scientist second. He usues verbal juggling to make himself look as if he has a scientific point of view - he hasn't. The world existed long before any human was created not because some human decided it, so placing a line in the sand and calling it the point from which we will discuss is why most people will just dismiss aggressive atheists like him out of hand and he's also been caught out with some outright lies but he finds support in drone academics who require his "support" for any of their own work to stand.

The Piltdown man "hoax" is an example off the top of my head that these people will resort to and dirty the good name of science. "Go back to studying alchemy you defunct satanist.." is what I heard one of his hecklers call him once. He didn't have an answer back...

I find Dawkins is brilliant. We surely need people like him to counteract rising fundamentalism of religious people. OK, so he's not perfect, and sometimes for the sake of argument goes a bit too far. So what? This doesn't disprove his points. If you want to see it theoretically explained and all questions answered, just read his book, "The God delusion", which does the job much more systematically than is possible in a documentary format.
There's so much propaganda from "the other side", and so much mindless and useless killing in the name of religion for the last millennia, that voices like his are precious if we want to lend weight to the balance in the name of sanity. Just think, for one moment, if there was no religion, how many wars and how much torture and misery would have been spared: no Crusades, no Jihad, no Inquisition, no torture, no human beings making others miserable "for the good of their souls". There still would be greed for money or land, but the heads of state (who did it for money/land/power anyway, even under the cover of religion) wouldn't have a handy tool to persuade the gullible masses that they were doing it "in the name of God", so where would they find the armies?
