Inspired by the tragic death of the great Polish actor Zbigniew Cybulski, this Andrzej Wajda film focuses on the behind-the-scenes lives of a director and his actors when they are disrupted by the mysterious murder of their leading man. It is, in director Wajda’s words, "a story about the people who make films – the directors and the actors." Film fiction mixes with reality as some of the actors play themselves. Everything For Sale can also be viewed as a glimpse into the way in which Wajda deals with his past and with his friendship with Cybuski. Vanguard Cinema

Aside from being interesting and unique look into the world behind the camera, this film is so much more. The personal nature of the film shines through and one cannot help but respect the thoughtful way in which Wadja created this homage to Zbigniew Cybulski. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0065226/usercomments)

There are so many wonderful nuances in this film that it is difficult to relate or even absorb them all. One of the most prominent themes in the film that stood out was the blending of reality and fiction. Wadja seems to develop this theme throughout the film in relation to developing the characters and the reality in which they live. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0065226/usercomments)

This is a very difficult work of Mr. Wajda, here you will not see a bloody fight or an equestrian battle. Here, this is a very slow and philosophical story about false, double-faced, insincere and stupid life of actors. Their life is never true, it is all one endless play, false and puffy. All the heroes talk about unnamed actor who finally died on a train accident, and even his death became a show. Everything there is a show - love, death, tears, words, feelings. You feel a strange vapid, tasteless feel during the film but that is what Wajda exactly intended to achieve. This strange and unending boredom never leaves you, but this is a real feat to make a boredom look like a masterwork. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0065226/usercomments)

"Everything for Sale" (Wszystko Na Sprzedaz) is a complicated and artistic film, as are many directed by Andrzej Wajda. This 1968 film is a dedication to Zbugniew Cybulski. The film is about him, but does not star him or mention him by name. (amazon.com Customer Reviews)

In "Everything for Sale," a director by the name of Andrzej (this is an actor who is playing the role of Wajda) is making a film in which Cybulski was to be the main actor, but they cannot find him and continue filming anyway. His wife and friends also look for him. After some searching, they hear the news that he died in a train accident (as did Cybulski in real life). The film turns into a group of people making a film, that then decide to make a film about making a film, which is quite a complicated plot. (amazon.com Customer Reviews)

What distinguishes "Everything for Sale" from other films is an original story, that is presented in an unusual way, and as a whole is a tribute to an actor (Zbugniew Cybulski). Overall, this 94 minute movie is creative and different. (amazon.com Customer Reviews)

Dear FNB47 ,great movie.
Thanks for sharing such a great collection of best ones.
Some time ago you promised to upload Alain Resnais's "Providence" .
As far as I know there is no DVD copy of this movie available that I could buy.
To me that was a masterpiece.
Could you please share it in the near future.
Thanks again.

wandaz hello :)
Sure I remember my words. I still havent found the DVD of "Providence".
I have two copies of "Providence" (downloaded from ed2k-network): first one seems like a VHS-rip not a good picture quality film. It is dubbed in English and has no subtitles... the second one is a decent rip probably a DVD-rip... but it is dubbed in Spanish and it also has no subtitles.
What should I do... shall I upload them to RS?... Yes I'd better do so. In case, when I find its DVD, I would reupload it then...
OK, I will upload my those 2 copies in couple of days.
cheers.

''Providence'' was released on torrent. Here is the link:

But I don't like Alain Resnais much.If compare with some greatest directors he ranks in the bottom :(.

Wajda is probably Poland's best film maker, so every film he made is very much worth experiencing and I look forward to see this one. Thank you again, FNB47.

FNB47, a couple of things: Providence was shot in english with UK and USA cast, and UK writer). French voice actors later dubbed the original actors for the film's domestic release, while it was exported to the USA and UK as an english language film. The torrent referenced above has the original english audio and very good video quality. Since the only known DVD release for this one is the spanish DVD from 2004 that has the french and spanish dubs but not the english track, i think that someone took the audio track from the old VHS english release and syncronized it to the DVD transfer, creating a DVDrip of the original, never released on DVD, version. Since demonoid is blocked to non-members, I can upload the torrent file (which has plenty of seeds) to rapidshare. If you cant use torrents, I may upload the whole 2 cd's rip if you want me to after I'm finished with the torrent.

Thanks a lot.
