Death Bell (2008)

Official competition piece at the recent Puchoen (Bucheon) International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan). About 200 days prior to the college entrance exam, a school manages a cram course for its top 20 students. Evaluated only by their grades, school life is so stressful that some students suffer from serious mental problems. A sudden piano solo of ``Fur Elise'' wakes up the sleeping students and a screen shows the top student, Hye-yeong, dying in a water tank. A voice asks the students to solve a question, to decide the fate of Hye-yeong.

A chi-chi private high school, which actively encourages cutthroat competition among the student body by, for instance, publicly displaying their exam score rankings, selects twenty elite members and organizes a boot camp of sorts, to prepare for an international student exchange event. To their chagrin, the students, including rebellious heroine Ina (the singer Nam Gyu-ri), her timid best buddette Myong-hyo (Son Yeo-eun) and her wannabe-boyfriend Hyun (the sit-com idol Kim Beom), and the teachers, uptight English teacher So-young (Yoon Jeong-hee, TV’s Happy Woman) and popular Korean instructor Chang-wook (Lee Beom-soo, City of Violence) find themselves stuck inside the school. Somebody is kidnapping students one by one, in the order of their midterm score ranks, and killing them. The gruesome ways in which they die are broadcast via the school AV system: the only way to prevent the hideous murders is to find correct solutions to the culprit’s “exam questions” in time…



Tips to watch subtitle .SUB and .IDX format :
VLC Media Player:
1. Keep all the files (.avi, .sub & .idx) in the same folder
2. Play normally with VLC media player , go to VIDEO on top of VLC and choose SUBTITLE TRACK at the dropdown menu and select the appropriate subtitle .

ConverXtoDVD:
1. “Add” the .AVI file from the movie folder into the ConvertXtoDVD (the .IDX and .SUB file extensions should follow automatically providing all of them have the same exact file name). For non techie : FILE-NAME.FILE-EXTENSION
2. “Convert” and “Burn” normally
3. Use the button on your DVD or the remote control to select the appropriate subtitle for your viewing.
