Kuroneko (1968) - (Eureka - The Masters of Cinema Series - #14) [DVD9] [2005]
A Film by Kaneto Shindo
Documentary | 2.35:1 | Black & White | Japanese Dolby Digital 1.0 | English Subtitles | 95 min.
Full Original Dual-Layer DVD Image (.ISO) + HQ Scans = 5.72 GBs | 300MB RARs | MU

Kaneto Shindo’s Kuroneko — released to great acclaim in 1968 — is a sparse, atmospheric horror story, ascribing to the director’s philosophy of using beauty and purity to evoke emotion. Eccentric and more overtly supernatural than its breakthrough companion piece, Onibaba (1964), Kuroneko revisits similar themes to reveal a haunting meditation on duty, conformity, and love.

In this magnificently eerie and romantic film — loosely based on the Japanese folktale The Cat’s Return — a mother and daughter-in-law (Nobuko Otowa & Kiwako Taichi) are raped and murdered by pillagers, but return from the dead as vampiric cat spirits intent on revenge. As the ghosts lure soldiers into the bamboo groves, a fearless samurai, Gintoki (Kichiemon Nakamura), is sent to stop their reign of terror.

Kuroneko remains a standout film of the kaidan eiga genre of period ghost stories often based on old legends or kabuki plays. Marking Shindo’s first use of wire work as Yone and Shige battle against samurai blades, the film is subtly complimented by Kiyomi Kuroda’s award-winning chiaroscuro cinematography, Hikaru Hayashi’s vibrant score, and riveting performances from many of the greatest actors of Japan’s Golden Age of film. The Masters of Cinema Series is proud to present Kuroneko on DVD for the first time in the West.

One can never have to many Shindo movies in his collection.
Outstanding!
Posted By: Kushami Date: 13 Feb 2010 07:23:31
lol I can't believe this. I just downloaded a dvd rip version yesterday for nothing.
Thx for this wonderful release :)

Thank you for all `Masters` , but rapidshare - Criterion is disappearing . I hope you will make them work somehow ?
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 13 Feb 2010 16:47:34
I am just waiting to see what will disappear and then i'll see if i'll continue using rapidshare.

Best,
CR

Sorry,I didn`t saw the `Walker` comment on this . Thanks anyway, again, and please let us know where you have moved them .I hope for rapid return of the rapidshare!

Hvala,Vanja.

I actually prefer if people continue this discussion here.

I have decided, I am going back to Torrents, I am just testing a few connection issues and if everything works great I'll be creating the torrents next monday. I don't know why my torrent upload speed is way slower than my normal speed, i am trying to circumvent any sort of traffic shaping that may be the cause of this.

Best,
CR
Posted By: sharunasbresson Date: 13 Feb 2010 18:46:05
oh my god! I've never used torrents, I'm afraid I'll have to learn how, and just hope that my poor connection that went unexpectedly smooth with rapidshare will work somehow...

thanks anyway for your marvelous work here.

bye

It is quite easy and totally free, so don't worry. You can try some of mine very very old torrents here:

http://www.demonoid.com/files/?uid=3540894&seeded=2

But i'll replace them with new Criterions (all available here and more) and music and books. It will work fine. I am starting to hate these file hosts, making fortunes out of piracy and playing dumb... It is like we are they are holding us hostage. Not to mention that this was a personal attack by another user of Avax, that i'll also retaliate, hosts have these drawbacks... very vulnerable.

Best,
CR
Posted By: sharunasbresson Date: 13 Feb 2010 19:36:37
okay, you're very kind. I hope you'll let me know what i need to download on my computer in order to get your movies. Am i supposed to register on demonoid?
I have vuze azureus on my mac, is this enough?

pardon me for bothering you so, but your movies sharing was making me really happy and I can't afford to loose it :)
I live in italy and dvd market here is really really poor but i can't afford buying all i wish to watch from eureka/masters of cinema, criterion and british film institute...

You have a lot of people who highly respect your work here ( a lot of them on your side :>) ) ,and it`s important that you survive this way or another. Thanks a lot for your effort on this . Nobody should be despondent because of this , it should be considered as just a little digression . I hope for the best, and that you will not have problems with re-placing all of this .
Thank you kind man .
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 13 Feb 2010 19:47:52
Don't worry. You should register at demonoid if avaxhome doesn't allow me to post torrents only. I'll ask the admins here about that. You just need an App, i think uTorrent for windows is the best.

CR
Posted By: jamess Date: 13 Feb 2010 20:13:29
personally i am always downloading from rapidshare without account
i mean as free user :D , link by link but don't ask me how ? :)
i don't have credit card to buy an account or it better to says a bank account :P

about torrent
yeah torrent is a good choice ,that will help me a lot just let the pc on for 5 days and done

i hope people seed after their downloading finished
but i don't thing so you know why?
it requires a space from hard disk and each movie is 2 dvd9
it will be difficult for you to seed alone

i think you should use both rs + torrent -it is up to you

and i will seed for torrent cos it's free ;electricity bill can be ignored :D
my donwload is 60kb/s
upload is 17kb/s that what can i effort
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 13 Feb 2010 20:17:26
My upload is quite good, i was used to this at demonoid and as you can see some torrents are still alive and being seeded after two years. When i got a lot of downloaders at the same time the download was finished after one day or so and then seeders were already available and i would post a new one. I believe it will work fine. But let's test and see...

It is sad to hear that one of the Avax members was responsible for this. I can never thank You enough for Your work and I will follow You wherever it takes. It may sound pathetic, but movies are important part of my life and visiting Your blog was always one of this nice moments of the day.

Amazing work and taste.
Posted By: Anjav Date: 13 Feb 2010 20:44:05
I don`t understand Portuguese , but I have translated this, and why is it so, and who has the rights to give you an invitation to register on Demonoid ? Could anyone write something about that ?
Posted By: acsp Date: 13 Feb 2010 21:09:44
Sorry for writing in Portuguese but it's my language. Basically, I think that someone who is registered can give you an invitation code. I guess that´s how it works. If you check the links posted by CR you'll see that you can't download any torrent. It doesn't allow you. Big problem there. Megaupload is still the fastest download host, for me anyway. I decided to stop downloading as you don't know which link will be dead next. Best wishes
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 13 Feb 2010 21:13:29
I have many invitations, don't worry, i'll send invitations to people around here. But you don't need to be a member to download the torrents, you can find them on google a few minutes after they were created and so on. You can download the torrents from any torrent site. Demonoid is not a private tracker, don't worry about that!

Best,
CR

That would be welcome. Personally I'm very thankful thus far.
Posted By: Anjav Date: 13 Feb 2010 21:25:31
Thank you acsp ,your language is not a problem of course ,and thank you for that information .You`re right about downloading at this moment, but soon all will be happy : )) !

Thanks CR for that ,and for all you are doing , and due to that , ( soon we will all be happy ) !

i only found this site recently and the work CR does blows my mind, if theres a way I can donate some money CR i wuld be more than happy.

CR,you are an asset to Avax and whoever did this should be ashamed of himself.Let him make companies rich.We are all here and waiting.I'll just miss that every-day-wonderful--feeling of "which gem will it be today?".
I laid off Torrents for a while but I'll do what has to be done.
Posted By: Lontananza68 Date: 13 Feb 2010 23:51:12
Yeah - another loyal member of the Cerealripper Fan Club will stay in touch, whatever the tool will need. Torrenting with CR's upstream speed will be fine anyway! :)
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 14 Feb 2010 00:27:01
Most people won't notice a difference in the speed between the torrent and rapidshare. So, let's try it.

Best,
CR
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 14 Feb 2010 01:15:10
I am not seeding any torrents at this time, i'll start monday or tuesday! Just to let you all know!
Posted By: clodobv Date: 14 Feb 2010 01:21:21
Like you said, It's quite annoying that those file hosts make money with copyrighted content, and just delete them when they are required to do so. Of course they are just obeying the law, but why don't they check every upload before allowing it for download? While they're taking money out from users, it's one to them whether the files are copyrighted or not. It just makes me mad. And what makes me even angrier is that a user from this community had something to do whith your files being deleted from Rapidshare's servers. Anyway, looking foward for your torrents of those great movies. And, of course, thanks for all the uploads until now.
Posted By: Kushami Date: 14 Feb 2010 07:39:59
I have a demonoid acc already and for sure I will follow you there CR.
Keep up the good work and fck those file hosting sites that destroyed the real p2p :D

@sharunasbresson
anche tu italiano/a? :o
Posted By: sharunasbresson Date: 14 Feb 2010 10:12:37

ciao
Posted By: mickey_57 Date: 14 Feb 2010 10:19:36
i hope rapidshare problems would be solved & CR's posts would remain alive 4ever!
i'm gradually begining 2 dl some of brilliant criterions which i don't have & recent news is utterly disapponting 4 me.
personally TOrrent is like a TOrture 4 me! it intensely depends on seeders & MOST seeders are too selfish to remain after their finished download.
so let's pray CR continues to post on rapidshare 4ever..
Posted By: Kushami Date: 14 Feb 2010 11:06:25
@sharuna

Li dovrei avere quasi tutti ormai credo :)
Ma precisamente di dove sei? Terronia io :D

with regard to torrents I'm quite unsure as to how they work, but am i right in thinking with we download CR's films and keep the files on our computer will that make it quicker for eveyone else? Also, which is the best torrent system to use?
Posted By: jamess Date: 14 Feb 2010 12:51:07
@Tom J
1) i pesonally use utorrent
http://www.utorrent.com/

2)"but am i right in thinking with we download CR's films and keep the files on our computer will that make it quicker for eveyone else"
this process called seeding looks smiler to uploading

by seeding you will help other downloaders to finish their downloading

at least try to seed till the ratio reach to 1
Posted By: Tom J Date: 14 Feb 2010 15:02:08
many thanks for the advice James!
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 14 Feb 2010 16:37:51
People, really you shouldn't worry about speed, it will be fine, i'll seeding 90% of the time every single torrent. It will work fine and Demonoid has a strong community with more than 10 million members! Let's try monday and see how it works, i'll probably create torrents for all my books today already and let you know.

Don't forget find me here (http://www.demonoid.com/users/MovieTheRipper), i might have some problems reading PM at avax. You can also send me an email to cerealripper@gmail.com.

Best,
CR

Posted By: HaraldBluetooth Date: 14 Feb 2010 17:29:56
Hi CerealRipper,

I highly respect all your work and of course you decide how you will upload these movies.

For years I've an account by Demonoid, but haven't used torrents since the introduction of Rapidshare, Megaupload, Netload and several more.

For me torrents is fine, but it's a big problem for people with a slow upload speed, because by Demonoid you have to share at least 1:1 and that can be a big problem with a slow upload speed, because you have to seed every movie for at least 14 days or so.

Have you considered not to publish the links, but protect them with DLC protection/decryption??

Domonoid has also had there up and downs and have been closed many times for several months.....
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 14 Feb 2010 17:42:54
Protection of links don't work, sites and tools like these break them all: http://avaxinfo.110mb.com/ besides you can get the links anyway, just wait the download to begin and you get the links.

You don't have to keep seeding 14 days or so or anything like that at demonoid. If you are registered your downloads and uploads are indeed being measured, but only to 1 unique IP, you can download using a different IP (you can access demonoid using a free webproxy like obamaproxy.com) or you can just grab the torrent and download without being registered. Nothing will be measured. Or you can donate $1 to demonoid and your download statistic will be zeroed and you won't be expelled for not helping seeding. People are terrorized about torrents, but you will notice that it works pretty fine, even more for people using rapidshare for free. But the download speed is quite fast and it is all free and the torrents will never die!

Thanks CR for your tips and if/when you move to torrents, I will for sure follow your track, but I hope other seeders have higher upload speed than me and don't follow your tips ;O)
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 14 Feb 2010 18:58:37

I just checked, it says they're closed, only if you have invitation code, is it closed only for IP's from the US?

If anyone has an invitation code, can they message it to me? much appreciated !

I created a new one to make my nickname here easier to be recognized.

Ask me for invitations through PM.

Torrent uploads are just perfect for smaller files, as those pdf books that you have just uploaded on demonoid.
A download of more movies, combined together, would be very time and resource (HD space) consuming. Only few movies are now banned here. Hoping that our favorite poster don't get a nomination on RS's black list as some other user here that was forced to migrate!
Only in that case I would totally migrate to demonoid.
Anyway doesn't RS consider here that a lot of users passed to premium accounts ONLY for the magnificent DVDs of Cerealripper?
If all quit their subscriptions they would reconsider their "strange" policy!
Anyway cerealripper thanks for sharing these marvelous films.
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 15 Feb 2010 17:19:52
I disagree it only works for PDFs, this is my old account at demonoid:

http://www.demonoid.com/users/MovieTheRipper

I was specialized in seeding Criterions and MoCs. I am now seeding two torrents from my old account, Ghost in The Shell and Tales From Earthsea, you can check and test the download speed, let me know what you think i am working on some improvements in the seeding aspect. Rapidshare or any file-hosts never again. But I would appreciate if people could provide me a list of all DEAD rapidshare posts and post in a comment here.

Best,
CR

same goes for Bad timing by Nic Roeg.

Checked page 20 to 26 of yr blog. Seems that they received a friendly letter from Criterion's Mr. Becker. RS is systematically deleting yr CC posts, but nothing else. Here's a list of deleted material pp. 20-26:

THE ICE STORM - Ang Lee (The Criterion Collection) (2 DVD9s)
PICKUP ON SOUTH STREET - Samuel Fuller (The Criterion Collection)
Yi yi - Edward Yang (The Criterion Collection - #339) [DVD9] [2006]
Mishima (Criterion Collection) - [2 DVD9s]
ECLIPSE SERIES 5: THE FIRST FILMS OF SAMUEL FULLER [3 DVDs] [2007]
PATRIOTISM - Yukio Mishima and Domoto Masaki (The Criterion Collection) [DVD9]
IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE - Wong Kar-wai (CCollection - #147) [2 DVD9s] [2002]
ECLIPSE SERIES 1: EARLY BERGMAN (The Criterion Collection) [5 DVD9s] [2007]
ECLIPSE SERIES 6: CARLOS SAURA’S FLAMENCO TRILOGY (The Criterion Collection) [3 DVD9s] [2007]
THE DOUBLE LIFE OF VÉRONIQUE - Krzysztof Kieslowski (The Criterion Collection - #339) [2 DVD9s] [2006]

Cheers
nihonnophile

EDIT: Apologies for my wrong statement above. A lot of the music and the e-books are gone as well, and it seems
that RS is still in the process of working throught the whole of yr uploads. Maybe they check according to yr
user ID.

Sorry for the whole mess!

just order a 1.5tb to help the seeding of CR files when they go back up. I am quite new to torrents and sorry if this is a dopey question but do I need to keep my computer on in order to assist others with downloading?
Posted By: Gnulp312 Date: 15 Feb 2010 21:37:49
CR San, about 18/20 hours download time for Tales From Earthsea ... demonoid works, I must reconsider my opinion :-)
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 15 Feb 2010 21:45:31
And it is still slow... i am also still messing with my connection. So you should get more than 2MB/s when downloading big files. Tales From Earthsea is just 7.5GBs, you should get it in less then 4 hours. I believe speed will still improve. Thanks for your feedback!
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 15 Feb 2010 21:51:29
Tom J, no need to worry much. You need to leave your computer on if you want to seed (help upload) but you don't have to do this all the time. I am sure people who can will help whenever possible. Thank you for your support!

Best,
CR

Damn.

I've just realized that CR will stop rapidsharing!!

I know I am not going back to torrent. In my country here, torrenting is a choked pipeline. Can't remember the last time I did torrenting...must be the good ol' days of DV and KG... I smiled when you stated "Tales From Earthsea is just 7.5GBs, you should get it in less then 4 hours". Not even when I use rapidshare (which is four times faster than torrent here) can I download an 8GB in 4 hours.

Swell.

This is sad news indeed.

(By the way CR, our fight regarding anime is not finished. I am compiling that list of great anime of the millenium. Slow progress, but that is the way with me.)

In the mean time, I am happy to know you, friend CR. You're basically, the main reason why I am still here at avax (among many things).

Thank you for all the great stuffs you've shared. Maybe two years down the road, once you will have scanned enough Criterion/MOC/BFI/etc booklets, please give me a ring.

Wishing you luck,

>>(By the way CR, our fight regarding anime is not finished. I am compiling that list of great anime of the millenium. Slow progress, but that is the way with me.)<<
I was sad because you stopped! But please, you have to post this under the same book on demonoid, so i can follow it!

But really, try the torrent as a test and check if you can't download. Anyway, you mostly download PDFs (9MB each), what difference will it make? I am sure you will find a configuration for your software that will leave your torrents as fast as rapidshare if not more.

All the best,
CR

I'd a demonoid acc. Thx CR, i'll follow you there.

Good Luck!

why the fck are they deleting everything... -_-
From their site
"12. Does Criterion sell its DVDs and Blu-ray discs outside the United States? And what regions do they play in?
We only publish DVDs for the North American market, and our DVDs and Blu-ray discs are encoded region 1. "
I do believe most ppl here are from outside USA, hence they don't lose any money because they wouldn't have the rights to sell to us.
I tried buying random dvds from their site and guess what? They only ship to US and Canada. So again, why they fck are they annoying us now? Greed?
Posted By: sharunasbresson Date: 16 Feb 2010 12:58:08
Dear Kushami, I undertsand you're upset, as I admittedly am, because of what we just lost. But I must say that I can also understand the reason behind this kind of intervention from a DVD producer.
yes maybe they don't ship outside Us and Canada but they sell also through amazon and other international seller.

Me, from Italy, I'm a huge Criterion Dvd buyer. Here I downloaded a few things from Cereal Ripper.
I'm not sure I would have bought them from Criterion if I didn't get the opportunity to download them here. But still, who knows...

Thanks to CerealRipper, sure. He made us a great gift, but I should also add thanks to Criterion who did a great job in issuing great edition of very well curated copies of great cinema from all over the world.

ciao

People, you have to udnerstand, MoC and Criterion are NOT BEHIND THIS! My files are being deleted because a BOOK POSTER HERE AT AVAX DENOUNCED MY FILES!! This way he can post them himself!!! That is why my files are being deleted. Remember, Criterions and MoCs by other users are still alive!
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 16 Feb 2010 15:37:40
One more thing, only half of my files are dead! The rest will remain alive! I just got an email form rapidshare, it was indeed related to eBooks! So, one account and the files inside it went down, the rest will remain fine. Just to let you know. I lost about 8500 files in total (each Criterion holds about 45 files per DVD). So that is it. But i'll move to Demonoid and start posting the titles that were deleted first.

Some people live to destroy everything that´s good and beautiful.
But what goes around comes around.
Everybody in this community love your work and will follow you wherever you go.
And the poster who is denouncing your files will remain as obscure as it is now.

Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 16 Feb 2010 17:54:15
I talked to arthouse and this was related to something else. You shouldn't worry, no relation to this file deletion, just a coincidence!

hi all, sorry to ask daft torrent questions but i want to make sure i'm doing my bit when CR's CC files are posted up. To help with seeding do I need to save my downloaded files into a particular folder on my PC or will uTorrent simply do this for me? Sorry, newbie to this!
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 16 Feb 2010 22:37:31
The only thing you need to do is to leave the torrent file (.torrent) in the same folder as the the files you are uploading. Sometimes the software lets you decide where to put the files, it depends on the app, but usually it works like this. As soon as i finish posting the books i'll start posting the DVDs that have been deleted first.

I'm testing some torrents downloads from demonoid and I'm with lauryyk in this: the download speed is 10 Kb/s and it would take 1 week and 4 days to download a 7.93 GB torrent. My connection is certainly slow but still, direct downloads like rapidshare is, like, 8 times faster than torrents.
Maybe some day you'll reconsider your decision of migrating into torrents? Please?

Listen. Lenir just said "please". I know behind your cold and ruthless facade, CR, lurks a warm-hearted persona, of infinite compassion, that is just waiting to unleash to lenirs ot there. C'mon. At the very least, dont stop publishing all your film ebooks (that you've scanned, page by page, awaiting pleasure of being read, oh the ecstasy of being shared!) at avax.

Please?

Hi there to everyone. I'm currently testing one of yor torrrents, CR (for the book: The Anime Encyclopedia: A Guide to Japanese Animation) and my down speed is between 85 and 90 Kb/s. Let's see how it works for the DVD's.

Thank you very much for everything!
Posted By: evaristegalois Date: 17 Feb 2010 06:14:33
Just finished the download. 25 minutes for a 126 MB file. Not bad (at least to me). I tought this were going to be worse for me. Thanks again CR!

I'm so sorry to read about this. Demonoid is closed to registrations and torrents would be hopeless for downloading such large files. Thank you CerealRipper for your magnificent posts, it's been great.

hi all,

I've played around with the my settings on utorrent and get a download speed of about 250kb/s. There are some great videos on You Tube to help with this and I can suggest giving them a whirl.
Posted By: sharunasbresson Date: 17 Feb 2010 08:40:39
I can confirm that I just downloaded a pdf file from CerealRipper at demonoid with Vuze azureus. the pdf is 34 MB and I downloaded it in just 60 seconds. If I could reach same speed with movies then this way of downloading suits me fine. cross my finger :)

hi
you gays have to open port for torrent app
visit the following site and do the steps
http://portforward.com/
1-select your router company +it's model no
2-select the app [i am using utorrent]
follow the steps then done

Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 17 Feb 2010 16:40:46
Like jamess said this is a configuration problem. Besides i can only guarantee speed for the torrents i seed myself, if you are testing on other people's torrent i can't do anything. Test on my torrents and check the speed you get.

When i download my two DVDs (which i am seeding form my old account) with a different computer form a friend i am always getting at least 600KB/s, letting me download the whole DVD (8GBs) in less than 6 hours.

So, you should configure your torrent app correctly and test one of mine. I'll post a completely new MoC today and you can test this one. First day is always slower than the subsequent days since a lot of people is mostly only downloading but you should still get a good bandwidth around 300KB/s minimum, probably more.

Increase the number of peers to be connected to about 60 at least.

Please lenir, try one of my torrents. lauryyk, sorry man, but never again, i won't feed this industry, never again. Besides, i have been receiving a lot of complaints telling me rapidshare is not allowing free users to download anymore, you have to be a premium... so.. it is the right time to shift.

It is so not true people don't get the speed in my torrents they get for rapidshare that my books were all more downlaoded than they were with rapidshare in less than 48 hours of posting. ONe of my books have been downloaded more than 1000 times in less than 48 hours. Never saw that for rapidshare, not even with my most popular textbook!

Best,
CR

Thanks for all your hard work over the months or so that I've followed you. I was gone for a bit and just came on this thread to see why there were over 80 posts on this thread. Little did I know I would receive such bad news. Anyway, I don't use torrents anymore after receiving two notices from my ip telling me that I had been caught downloading illegal content plus the fact that the speeds were always inconsistent. I figured it wasn't worth the risk of being fined so I switched to rapidshare/megaupload etc. Out of curiosity, have you looked into putting your links into dlc files. Basically, we download a very small dlc file with jdownloader and then the links you've uploaded show up. We never see the actual links you've uploaded so it can't be reported. Plus you can keep uploading to rapidshare (or megaupload). Anyway, it's something to consider. If you do switch completely to torrents, good luck but unfortunately I can't follow you there. Thanks again for all your hard work.
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 18 Feb 2010 04:56:55
Gir, obviously i have used DLC and many other forms of "link encryption". They don't work, you can break them in seconds, actually i have already posted a site in this thread which automatically decrypts any link. BEsides i have used this in some posts of mine, all that are now DELETED!

All about torrents is fear, that is exactly what rapidshare and other hosts want to propagate. I never heard of anybody being arrested through torrents, which is harder difficult since most torrent traffic is encrypted (you just have to select that option in your torrent software) but heard a lot through megaupload and rapidshare, recently a boy was arrested in NY because he uploaded a movie (a new hollywood one don't remember which one) to megaupload. Anyway, i am not concerned, I have been doing that for ages, IRC before torrents and before file-hosts, the only one that left me disgusted was file-hosts. Just to let you all know, rapidshare simply decided by itself that my whole account was going to be deleted because they received many complaints about my ebooks. So they simply deleted more than 8500 files because of a few books.

I'll never again post anything on these sites, never. I please ask people not to insist! Who wants to download from a torrent, do it, who doesn't just don't. I have to remember people, i am not selling anything here... file-hosts are the ones doing it!

See you,
CR

Dear CR,

With your invitation on Demonoid, I've downloaded "Gothic Tales" (4,5 Mo) in one minute.
I am seeding them, but nobody wants them presently.

One question: on mutorrent, where can we find the option "incryption"...?

Too many seeders at this time pagema, about 30. Only 5 people downloading, since the file is small they finish it fast and don't need to use other uploaders. Will be hard for you to start seeding this one...

Hi CR, first of all I want to thank you for all your marvelous job, you gave me and my girlfriend a lot of great movies to watch and in the best quality available.

It's a shame we all have lost all of that valuable files but I will follow you to demonoid and to hell if I have to.

I just wanted to know something you see, I was downloading JEUX INTERDITS and the files went down when I was about to download the 30th part so I have like 10 parts missing. My point is, are you going to upload the same exact files to demonoid? I wanted to know if I have to keep those 29 files and wait for the missing ones or I kiss them all goodbye and wait for new ones.

Again, thank you very much and keep up the good work.

Oh yeah, sorry for my bad english.

Cya.

I am still asking that question myself, I know that i won't use rar files for my new releases at demonoid, but i still don't know about the old ones. I'll have to see about that, if you can hold them for a while it would be good.

"One question: on mutorrent, where can we find the option "incryption"...?
Thanks in advance"

you can find it here >>
press "Ctrl + P" >> BitTorrent tab =you will find somewhere there. "if you couldn't find it update your mutorrent "

-i personally disabled encryption option ,because i don't have to encrypt ,it depends on your ISP maybe my case is different than yours

A short tip about torrent uploads in VIDEO_TS folders.. to be able to burn them correctly you have to include the .MDS file that holds the layer break. If you use the .ISO format you can skip this. And don't worry about multiple RAR's this was used in the past on slow connections to help users that downloaded huge files so that in the case of a broken download they wouldn't be required to download the whole huge file.. just the missing partX.RAR. The torrent file includes hash-checks on all your files and any user can resume his download from where he stopped.

cheers,
Dorin
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 19 Feb 2010 21:10:38
I am thinking about the RARs only foe the old titles already posted here, so people can complete what they have already downloaded from rapidshare, since the rest was deleted. This is the only reason.

Best,
CR
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 19 Feb 2010 21:12:50
Sorry to bother you guys, but if you could provide a complete list of what was deleted, i got the list above from dirdir but i think it is incomplete.

Thanks in advance!

well, i'm finishing downloading Twentu four eyes (maybe not so fast as I hoped for but fast enough to continue downloading your many gifts. thank you again. and please believe me when I wrote yesterday that I was looking forward testing the download speed from your torrents I wasn't in the least put pressure on you. I can be a patient guy :)

Finally, to try and help you with your list of deleted files I can also add that the Ozu story of floating weeds and floating weeds double bill may be not deleted but just plain dead for lacking of download...

bye, sincerely
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 19 Feb 2010 22:14:03
It was certainly deleted, rapidshare is not actually deleting files for lack of downloading, they said they would but they never did. Anyway, not a single Criterion went more than 10 days without a download. Can you tell me how long it took for you to download? 12 hours? I would like to know who were the 5 first who finished downloading in less than 6 hours...

Best,
CR
Posted By: dirdir Date: 20 Feb 2010 00:46:51
CR,I just finished downloading, yes it took about 12 hours.I wonder how will it be with sizes of 15 GB and more, but there were a lot of seeders,I can't complain.Waiting with gratitude for the rest..
Thank you
GEORGE
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 20 Feb 2010 01:28:30
I am happy with the results, eventhough there were lots of people connected, we still got 20 full completed downloads in less than 15 hours, which is faster than my rapidshare stats, that usually shows me no more than 15 downloads in the first day. Miss Julie was posted 11 days ago and was downloaded 115 times till now (and that is because people are rushing to grab the still alive criterions). So, at least it seems like free users are having a better time.

I will be following comments on demonoid more often than here from now on. So i hope I see you all there.

All the best,
CR

well well, that's great indeed. I was downloading Late Autumn form the late ozu boxset. Before I started I checked the first and the last of the rapidhsare link. They worked, so I started downloading in order. But the 27th file (and only that one!!) is reported as illegal.
So now I nearly extinguished my rapidshare daily quote and I don't have nothing in my hand. Could you believe this?

I can't understand where and how this way of acting should be more correct and legal...

So this is to let know people at rapidshare (I'm going to write them directly sure) that my next subscription to rapidshare will be converted in a donation to cerealripper!

Grrrrr, how angry am I!!!

http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=14414
Una volta fatto aggiungi le regole di orari dalla finestrella scheduler che ti appare
Posted By: sharunasbresson Date: 21 Feb 2010 19:45:09

Posted By: Kushami Date: 21 Feb 2010 22:28:35
Quindi metti
repeats: daily
date: 22 2 2010
hour: 2 00
clicki + affianco a start download e poi fai save, e dovrebbe comparirti in lista scheduler.

grazie mille.

Posted By: Kushami Date: 22 Feb 2010 08:36:01

Ciao

Hi guys

Criterion Collection #412 - SAWDUST AND TINSEL (1953) is now available on demonoid!

I was never happy with Rapidshare; even as a Premium Member you are limited to a daily download limit which is supposed to be 5G, but is frequently much less. It's simply a ploy to make you buy more downloading allowances.

But I'm new to Torrents, and am uneasy about it being traceable as my ISP will notice that I'm uploading quite a lot.

I wonder if CR would consider Megaupload, as Premium Member there is no downloading limit at all, and therefore makes downing DVD9s as easy as anything can be.
Posted By: Kushami Date: 23 Feb 2010 17:19:28
mackyv if you download from 2am to 10am (gmt+1 if I'm not wrong, german-italian time anyway) you get counted only 10% of the real traffic used.
To make it clear if you download 10 gb (more than a DVD9) only 1gb is subtracted from your premium traffic. This way, with enough HD space, you can download almost whole CR's japanese films releases in 1 single month of premium. My download quota is almost always full (rarely I download something out of the bonus hours), and so is my HD :D
Posted By: mackyv Date: 23 Feb 2010 18:22:49
Thanks for the tip Kushami ! I wondered why sometimes I got to downloads lots & other times even less than the supposed limit ! It would have been very worth knowing when CR was in business!

Still even with the 10% tip, it's hard to beat MU's unlimited allowance !
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 23 Feb 2010 18:37:27
mackyv, tehparadox (from tehparadox.com) had his entire megaupload account deleted by megaupload, seems like he had around 100TB inside....

So, file-host are all shit to me.
Posted By: mackyv Date: 23 Feb 2010 22:30:11
I see your point CR; there's sites like humyo, that let people upload & easily share upto 30g for free, so I wonder if you think it's worth rotating uploads every few weeks this way ?

CR what about Late Spring by Ozu? Parts 1-15&17 of the first dvd are ok, but part 16-34 and whole second dvd are deleted :(
Will you reup it by torrent or something?

I'm glad I found this comments section. I was wondering what was going on with the Criterion files since I was in the process of downloading The Last Emperor.
Anyway, thanks for all the effort, CerealRipper. I managed to get a few Kurosawas, which I'm really happy with - could do with a few more, but that's the way it goes.
I've used torrents and Demonoid in the past, so if that's the new route, I'd gladly follow. Once again, as a film fan, I appreciate CerealRipper for all the work he's done so far. Thanks very much!

The new delettions is partly my blame, rapidshare was trying to fuck with me again and i just decided to delete all my files with them, and i'll start a wave on the internet. They think they can fuck with pirates.

c'mon guys lets forget about RS
Posted By: FreddieCouples Date: 24 Feb 2010 21:41:20
These motherf****** at RS are getting in bed with the huge entertainment companies - the RS CEO just has been to Hamburg to meet the Warner Bros. Europe boss. They will sell their shit over the RS website, so now RS are massacring all the posts to show their "good will". Read Sueddeutsche Zeitung from Saturday. RS already has more hits than Microsoft or amazon! They want to become the next google - f*** them!
Posted By: mackyv Date: 25 Feb 2010 17:26:59
It's more a case of RS fucking themselves, as for sure they know that 99% of the files they host are infringements of copyrights, so if they force people quit RS and to use torrents instead, then they are simply cutting their own hypocritical throats.
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 25 Feb 2010 18:15:48
Like Freddie said, they have other business in mind. This is all a facade. Rapidshare was deleting just one file from every set of RAR files from my last posts alive. This way people were fooled to buy a premium account and download, but since they missed one rar file they couldn't open the DVD. I started to receive many complaints by PM regarding one or two files being locked by rapidshare. Rapidshare is a bloodsucking company, pretty much like all the others, piracy and money DO NOT MIX. They were not made to mix, actually piracy is a reaction to the market of art, knowledge, etc. and the segregation that comes with it.

Hi.

Thank You.
Posted By: dorusan Date: 28 Feb 2010 07:51:59
Just let RS delete those files, just let them be, they are loosing their user-base file-by-file, user-by-user. It's similar to watching from the ground at a plane go down blazing, everybody is mesmerised by the event, knows there's nothing they can do to stop the crash, they feel a bit sad because they used the same plane a few times and enjoyed it, but now they don't care so much, it depends mainly on the skills of the pilot (RS management policies). It's a show worth watching. There will ALWAYS be another (FREE) file-sharing system to use (torrent, ftp, direct-links), don't worry so much.

Dorin.

Oh, probably everything has been said in the previous posts, but I would like to thank to CerealRipper for really educational posts of which I managed to download a lot. I am quite afraid of torrents since I had big trouble with agents from certain country which creates Waves VST plug-ins. So I am not sure if I will dare again as I don't know how to hide my connection etc. Well, perhaps there will be some solution. :-) Many thanks again, CerealRipper!

STOP Seeding all my torrents!!! Do not seed my torrents anymore!! I deleted all my torrents form demonoid but the moderators didn't allow them to be deleted YET, I wonder!!

If you wanna know more about it, read it here:

http://fora.demonoid.com/index.php?topic=116983/622400#622400

And there is something else, the selling of invitations to demonoid, that has become a business!

DO NOT SEED MY TORRENTS ANYMORE, STOP!!
Posted By: azymuth Date: 12 Mar 2010 14:54:00
But why? What happend? I can't access no topic on demonoid forum you posted.
This is really bad news.
Looks like no more CC, huh? :(
Posted By: MissFitt Date: 12 Mar 2010 15:41:35
CR got banned very drastically for having insulted the moderator at the forum.
Demonoid seems to be run by Stalin.
CR - the human being - really deserves some rest now. I worry about him/her.
Take care!

man this is bad news....I though the whole torrent thing was working really well, please don't give up CR, surely there is another Demonoid type place?

Here is the PDF of the thread at demonoid.com:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IHH7W69X

The other part of the problem can be found here:

http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/2134166/35607102/

The closed access to avoid access from unregistered people, access was allowed just before this happened! And BTW, insult to moderator is just another lame excuse byt these useless posers who share nothing, they blocked my account ONLY AFTER I STARTED DELETING MY TORRENTS TO STOP ME FROM FINISHING IT!! But started deleting in a row so they couldn't stop! This can be easily verified since i even LEFT A COMMENT in the only torrent I haven't deleted. Don't buy the shit they are selling, the only thing these people know about is about copycating and selling the site as the one where you can find most torrents. A bunch o fucking stupid useless bastards. Can't get the authority they need in life they need to pose as something virtual shit. I'll never bow my head to shit people, and useless bastard who don't have respect even in their homes!

Ask why demonoid registration is closed most of the time??? These fucking posers and copycats keep selling account around the net!

You can read the whole post in the forum yourselves!
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 12 Mar 2010 17:09:49
I have been talking to Pasha here, coincidently almost at the same time the demonoid thing happened, so lets see if something can be aranged. ANd some people at demonoid, some who knows me form old times and some new friends, were inviting me to other torrent sites, private trackers, at the time i said i would go because these trackers are too restricted, and very dependable on invitations, but it is a fast alternative, since all the torrents are ready to be seeded and NOBODY HAS TO DELETE WHAT THEY HAVE ALREADY DOWNLOADED, just download the torrent again form the new site and resume the transfer, so save your files!

Also, I have been in this fight for long, it is not posers and useless to trash the whole scene that are going to make me quit, this is nothing but another small stone in the way, if that place has been flooded by lamers i would leave sooner or later anyway.

Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 12 Mar 2010 17:39:33
Don't don't worry about donations or anything like that now. I am talking with some people to see if i find a private tracker where i can take all my old downloaders with me. If i find i move there. (invitations and stuff...). Let's see.

Best,
CR

I can perfectly understand what you are saying here.

Actually I had similar experience on some trackers, where I was a uploader and I got banned too.

I don't know what will happen if you go the private tracker way.
Some of them have a relatively small number of members and maintaining a requested ratio can be very hard, or even impossible if you have a slower internet connection.

If you don't want to kill your ratio instantly, you must download new torrents only, since there is a very limited posibility that someone will download an old torrent from you.
Been there, done that,
Even if you start downloading the most recent torrent (but you have a slow connection), everybody is downloading much faster than you and with a small number of members, the chances are that everybody who was interested already downloaded it long before you finish.
So, there is nobody left to download from it you when you finally finish it and your ratio is hurt badly.
This way, your ratio can stay low for a long time and you can be banned easily.

Some private trackers won't let you become an uploader until you have a certain amount of traffic, so you can't even compensate for your initial bad ratio.

So I can only hope that you won't have to move your great rips to some very restrictive private tracker, since there is a possibility that many of us with slower internet speeds will not be able to follow you there.

I downloaded most of your DVD rips from Demonoid, so I can help you seeding them wherever you decide.
I also have tons of your stuff from Avax too.

As azymuth already said: Let's hope everything turns out good, but even if it doesn't - you have given us so much good stuff that i am happy with it as it is.

I wish you all the best!!!

What about a massive support to CerealRipper @ demonoid forum?? Anyone for it?? I think we should do it, no matter if CR never again returns to Demonoid or anywhere else.
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 13 Mar 2010 02:39:14
i won't go for a restrictive tracker people. Since i want to seed you guys stuff and not see you worried about having to upload everything back again. This will become impossible for some. So, i'll choose a more open tracker, you shouldn't worry. In the last case i'll create my own tracker. The good about torrents is that the files are fully intact, you just choose another tracker download the torrent file and begin form were you stopped. I am almost done deciding about the tracker. I have got some invitations from some nice trackers who are connected through IRC which brings me good old memories, but i am a bit concerned about the restrictiveness of the ratio thing. But this won't be a problem, i'll pick a nice community where i don't see moderators deleting torrents to help friends or other moderators steal credits.

Instead of flaming demonoid (they will just delete everything, can't you see all the trouble they went through to delete a single simple thread) you should all ask Mr. Pasha here to open an Avax tracker! :)
Posted By: phc2 Date: 13 Mar 2010 02:53:46
you don't even need a central tracker. all you need is some way to let people know about the newly-created torrent file and then distribute that file to them.

http://www.trackon.org/ keeps a list of all working public trackers. a torrent created with those URLs in it could be copied and distributed freely

private trackers instead inject a unique identifier into each downloaded torrent to ensure the content stays within their community. AND to take a count of the uploaded and downloaded amounts for each user, for each torrent.

we could all just start a free blog and post the tiny torrent files there to ifile.it or somewhere else. we'd all be sharing in and amongst ourselves. we'd all need to seed, or the torrent would eventually die, but in that case, someone could post a reseed request....

thepiratebay is looking like a good option. they have never removed a single torrent! they won't even remove my own torrents when i ask them to!

oh and that's another thing. you make a single torrent, load it up with 10 or 12 robust tracker URLs and then upload that torrent and a brief description to lots of large, public sites: isohunt, torrentreactor, thepiratebay, vertor, or any number of public sites. your torrent will propagate and be shared, but people will drop out of the swarm soon after reaching 100%, and are likely to cap their own upload speed before then....

private trackers offer stability and security, but public ones offer chances for wider distribution

PHC, tis is a great suggestion my friend, i find it a good solution and actually, possible the best. Let's check the blogging thing, i have made many sites including forums before, so this is the easy part.

lenir, thanks a lot for your support, but better forget about demonoid. Site staff from sites which exploit pirates, have a complete different mind, they are not pirates. What you can't become is these people's puppet, trophy or merchandise. Just go on your own, if you can't find the proper place to share, just create it. Better sooner than later.
Posted By: lenir Date: 13 Mar 2010 07:26:41
Well, the thread was deleted immediately by Demonoid, so, I guess we'd better forget about it. You're soooo right about the true nature of these sites. I'm sure you'll find your own way, though
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 13 Mar 2010 07:47:29
BTW, i have found out something VERY UGLY about all this copycat thing. The guy who copied my post actually posted his torrent AFTER MINE! He couldn't possibly have posted the torrent on the 12th of February as alleged in the post date (4 weeks ago - unless it is not a precise indication of time by demonoid), but nonetheless he couldn't have posted it before mine, since the date time of the MODIFICATION DATE of the file is on February 13th at 8am! YOu can download his torrent and check by yourselves.

So what Demonoid did was DELETING A TORRENT FROM THE ORIGINAL POSTER (ME) WHO CREATED THE TORRENT BEFORE!!! Now please somebody explain to me the logic of that, other than a jealous moderator!

You can check the prof image here:

what about private dc hub? no problem with ratio, no problem with speed

I can't believe you don't want to just give up now. It's been a shitty month for you. Major kudos for wanting to keep going.
Posted By: AnarchicBuddha Date: 13 Mar 2010 16:40:54
Yes, diddy25, probably any other person would have abandoned the battle for sharing already. CR, I'm very impressed by your determination and strengh with the Rapidshare and Demonoid thing (f**k 'em).

The blogging thing sounds really good. You must find the way to control your own stuff with no interferences. As you said, the good about torrents is that the files are fully intact.

Anyway, whatever you decides I'll be there with my moral support, seeding and sharing wealthy. I was here with you in Avax, I followed you to Demonoid and I will follow you until the end of the world if it's necessary :):):)

Thanks again for your commitment, your patience and all the magnificent work that you have done here and there!!!

Hm, i am new to direct connect hubs, but doesn't that sound interesting?
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 13 Mar 2010 19:31:01
We are now checking the viability of setting up a new private tracker with exclusive content only and only for original content providers/releasers. All downloaders will be welcomed.
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 13 Mar 2010 20:55:19
Ok, we have decided something, we are going to go trackless. We will rely solely on PEX and DHT for sharing the torrents, it is quite easy, you guys just have to set DHT and PEX on on your client softwares. uTorrent is recommended for windows and Transmission for the Mac.

So, we are only deciding where to post the news, I mean the torrent info, the listing for our torrents. Maybe a forum, maybe a new site. I could just post everything here, all the old posts would come to life instantly, but we can't do that, Avax is file-host only.

So, probably by monday we will be up again. You guys can already download and finish your torrents i'll leave some available here:

http://thepiratebay.org/user/cerealr

So you can start. These torrents are trackless, they are just being listed at The Pirate Bay, which actually is showing itself as a very good open community.

Posted By: lenir Date: 13 Mar 2010 22:02:00
Wherever you go! Now I'll follow you @TPB.
You should build yourself a nice blog, though. We've been abusing this Kuroneko post since february! (and god bless it still exists as I nearly faint when I saw your torrents deleted from Demonoid so I rushed here...)
Well CR, congratulations, you're moving like a rocket... again.
Posted By: Tom J Date: 13 Mar 2010 22:09:49
great stuff CR, I like the idea of having a new site and this whole thing has made me want to start putting somethingback into. I've got loads of cool films that I think would go down a treat and as soon as ive worked out how to do it i'm to but some up too!
Posted By: sharunasbresson Date: 13 Mar 2010 23:59:53
Hi, everybody! great news, I downloaded Transmission and I'm looking forward starrting again downloading from CerealRipper.

I just hope I'll be able to find out the better settings in order to do it as quickly as before (but I've learned to trust Cereal and his choices.

By the way, unfortunately her ein Italy if I try to open Thepiratebay.org I find that the access is denied by the state financial security...

In Italy the government is always avoiding trials and changing the laws, but the restriction for private sharing are straight and unavoidable....

well, enough for today
bye

We are noit going to stay at thepiratebay, we will setup a new place, TPB is just a test for the trackless thing and just to let some people finish their uploads. Right now, unfortunately our servers are unable to connect properly through DHT, but we are working on that. Connection right now is slow......
Posted By: CerealRipper Date: 14 Mar 2010 01:53:48
The issues is solved and we are now at full speed again! Just download a new version of the torrent for The Shop On Main Street if you guys were downloading it. I'll be posting all the torrents back again at TPB, together with a few new ones. And, don't worry about ratio, but if you can help seeding, great.

Best,
CR

Holy crap, so much has happened! Good job CR. I´m with you 100%!
Having your own blog is perfect and TPB is pretty reliable. Demonoid never really appealed to me because of the closed registration. That´s already leaving people behind. Kind of sucks.

Anyway, just want to say that your efforts are greatly appreciated. Don´t let the bastards put you down.

Dear CerealRipper,

kudos to you and your resilience!

That these fuc****, no matter if greedy companies like RS, or jealous moderators with small dicks at demonoid, can't stop you is a relief for me. It seems that the very structure of the net allows for alternatives at any time (especially for somebody as knowledgeable as you).

I for myself will follow you and your uploads wherever you go. And I don't know if the topic of donations is an appropriate one, but if there's anything I can help with (in regards to $$$) let me know - this is a matter of principle, and a democratic necessity.

Cheers

I still can't believe we won't have CR wonderful rips around... As my internet connection is very slow I was always running behind and now that I know that I would never get to see all those beautiful movies I'm devastated. I will feel better if the reason for killing the blog is that he has any time left as he is a lot happier doing something else. I hope there is no bitterness in this decision...
Posted By: Tom J Date: 01 Jun 2010 05:59:45
If CR has gone for good, would anyone be interested in forming a kind of international cinema club as a kind of Co-Op whereby we could put some money in the pot each month and buy decent films such as the criterions? At least we would be able to continue the trend of sharing great moives.
Posted By: kuja65 Date: 01 Jun 2010 11:06:18
.

CR, thank you for all the wonderful movies I downloaded from you!

There was no one like you!
I hope everything is well with you and that the reason that made you stop is not severe.

Are all the links gone too?

Does anybody have some sort of bookmarks or download queue if they are still there?

Maybe we can post them here if it is OK with CR?

Also, we can post torrents of downloaded CR rips on Piratebay or somewhere else (of course not pretending these are our own rips!)?

Maybe create similar user names, something like CRips001, CRips002, CRips003, etc so that the rips can be easily identified?

Here (or somewhere else) we can post lists of our collections of CR's rips, so that we can see who has what.

Of course if CR is OK with something like this.
This way, his rips can continue their lives.
It would be shame for all his hard work to disappear over night.

CR, we wish you all the best!!!

Posted By: lenir Date: 01 Jun 2010 16:39:27
Well, I'm not sure this will be ok as CR killed his blog altogether. I think that if he intended his rips to live on he would have mantained the page... It was strange enough uploading all this beautiful movies and killing the blog overnight.
Posted By: kuja65 Date: 01 Jun 2010 18:10:27
Maybe he was forced to quit by some legal authorities?

Posting DVD rips on his own site instead of sites like Avax, might have made his work more visible.

I'm sorry that I've missed that final message on his blog, so it's possible that I'll never know what has happened.

If he was forced to quit, someone else could carry on with his rips if he's OK with it.
Posted By: Tom J Date: 01 Jun 2010 20:13:39
I'm quite happy to support any uploader finacially with the cost of getting criterion like discs in as well as providing some from my own library as well oother films that people may be interested in. i can't upload myself becuase my internet speed is pathetic quite frankly, if anyone is interested please PM me.

I am on your side,CR,100%!!!!You can count on that!

Well I live in south america and earn, like, 300 usd a month. My internet connection is lousy but thanks to CR and several other avax uploaders I've managed to get one great film every couple of days or so. As some of my friends do not speak english I translate the subtitles when are not already available in internet and screen one or two films for them every friday and sunday at home. I will never be able to buy the originals as it would cost me 20% of my salary to get one of this films shipped from amazon (and to do so I must get an international credit card that no credit company would give me one considering my salary...). I never thought of any of this as piracy the same way I do not thing of drug trafficking when I smoke a joint although drugs dealers get rich due to the prohibition. More likely, I've always thought of CR as a superhero that sets the world right. I will be forever grateful with you and your amazing work, CR. There won't be any other like you, man. Wish you all the best.
Posted By: lenir Date: 05 Jun 2010 07:35:45
And to Tom J and kuja65, yes, I think we should build the CR Foundation and keep the good fight here @Avax reuploading all the Criterions and MoC deleted, don't you think? Maybe CR will be mad at us for doing so...

"The more I understand about the “piracy” business the more disgusting it seems to me."

The Master Pirate is disgusted about “piracy” ???!!!!!!!! Pretty lame “reason” to suddenly quit; more like his beloved MediaFire upset him, and he can’t admit to it, and can’t lose face by going back to MU.

People get a grip, CR certainly did provide tons of excellent movies, but he always marred it with his utterly obnoxious attitude if you dared question anything he did. Anybody would think that Christ himself had just passed away again judging by these OTT comments; the internet in infinitely big, and there are other great sources for good films, here’s just a couple from a long list if you only bothered to look around;

You are completely insane, Mediafire has been a great host all the way and I even use another account with them for backup, they have NEVER DISAPPOINTED ME! And all my links are still available with them and they have never deleted a single thing from their host. If there is one host one should use to try to SHARE things without practicing profiting-thievery it has to be Mediafire or perhaps Ifile.it.

My excuse is not lame it is the TRUTH! What people are doing is STEALING! People are profiting over other's people's good! It is stealing and pretty much like trafficking and all about things that you actually DO NOT NEED, YOU JUST WANT!

Liars and BULLIES have always envied me and spread all the shit they wanted, but i was the one sharing while all they did was talking and defamation, all to pursue their interests.

I'll will tell you once again, people like mackyv (the bully you already know!) are the the clear example of the disgrace of the piracy, they are useless, egotistical adn self-centered. and all they want is to acquire and profit form things for free. See if this person has ever helped in anything, has ever told me anything but to make believe he is a friend??? Who is the liar here??

I am honest and I tell things in your face, all the jealous and envy surround piracy is the proff that good people should stay alway from it. As it is written, do not give your pearls to pigs" (http://bible.cc/matthew/7-6.htm).

My blog is up, my links are all up and Mediafire is by far the best host and I defy the pirates who profit to start using a host who doesn't charge people and doesn't pay you to steal form others!! Let's see who will change to Mediafire!

I tell you again, you don't know how dirty and disgusting the pirate scene has become, it is a sea of lying pigs which you are feeding. People are getting stolen and useless unproductive ones are profiting.

I am still keeping everything alive at Mediafire so people won't have to download form MU or RS or any other hosts from mirrors that thieves and pigs and lame copycats have created for the things i have uploaded.

DO NOT INCENTIVE PROFITING PIRACY. NEVER! There are enough good things for you to download for free, enough you won't have time to read or watch or listen to all. And do not join bullies and envious people who you don't even know!

Truly,
CerealRipper

I understand your frustration, but it's still the saddest thing to see you go. I've only found out about you recently, so I was still eagerly waiting for all those re-uploads. However, I'm still very grateful for everything you've uploaded in your blog. And thanks again for filling my request on the Be With You DVD.
As lenir said, buying the real thing isn't as simple as you're making it sound. Some people just can't afford to buy original movies. I try to purchase some, but I'm still a student.
I think your decision is noble but you can't change the world. There will always be unscrupulous people profiting off others' work. Be it piracy or any other aspect of life. They may not feed off you anymore but they will keep on cashing in.
Anyways, you claim the blog has been up for a while but for some reason I still can't access it. I would love to get my hands on some your music and also a couple movies I left behind. So it would be much appreciated if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong...
Thanks again for everything, CR. You'll be missed.

Pardinuz, if you remember which movies/records you wanted to download I will send you the mediafire links by PM.

Unfotunately I wasn't fast enough to bookmark the MF links for the following movies and CR blog seem to be down again. If any of you have the links I will appreciate if you can send it to me by PM

[5 DVD9s] ECLIPSE SERIES 1: EARLY BERGMAN (The Criterion Collection)
[DVD9] Silence (1971) - (The Masters of Cinema Series - #44)
[DVD9] Bellissima (1951) - (The Masters of Cinema Series - #47)
[DVD9] DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID (1964) - (The Criterion Collection - #117)
[DVD9] SAWDUST AND TINSEL (1953) - (The Criterion Collection - #412)
[DVD9] THAT OBSCURE OBJECT OF DESIRE (1977) - (The Criterion Collection - #143)

Also I will appreciate if someone has parts 12, 14 and 19 of the film "Love" (Second Run 004) as for some reason they were deleted from MF. If not I hope someone who successfully downloaded this film may upload it here at avax.

What is the status now?
CerealRipper has stopped uploads on hosters.
But where are your new uploads?
Your Blog at http://www.thedailycereal.com/ can not be connected.
And Demonoid.com is also since April 2010 not connectable cause of an denial-of-service attack.
It seems the hosters were not so bad ;)

Looks like CR deleted everything. Buuuhhaaa. :=( Too bad....
Posted By: lenir Date: 11 Jun 2010 20:32:23
Yeah, the MF links are gone. I don't understand why CR did that.

Well, I guess that's it. :-)

It was good while it lasted.

I'm grateful for what I got.

Thanks CR.

Too sad that someone who's uploading so much good stuff is stopped by people who have nothing to do but complain. =(

Gone, going.
Gone, everything.
Gone, give a damn.
Gone, be the birds, when they don't wanna sing.
Gone, people, all awkward with their things,
Gone.

You can shed tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he used to publish,

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't dl his films,
Or you can be full of the flicks that he shared,

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he is gone,
Or you can cherish his Criterions and let them live on,

You can cry and close your mind; be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Wow! Poetry for an uploader. What more can be said?
Posted By: FreddieCouples Date: 01 Sep 2010 03:32:30
What more?

That sharing as we know it is over.
That it's time to turn off the god damned computer and get a life.
That it's time to read a book, learn to play an instrument, or get laid.
That this virtual madness luckily is coming to an end.

So much to share, and nobody out there to *understand* anything anymore...

Cheers
