The book "Consorts of Death" was like a punch in the belly of society and Varg Veum community that might have created this appalling child destiny, and Veum who had not managed to prevent injustice. The movie "Consorts of Death" also focuses on the problem, the child, Jan Egil, who is suspected of murder of his foster parents. He is like a ticking time bomb and will only talk to Veum. A troubled detective meets the past at the door. He's trying to dig up the truth, and find more unpleasant answers. Can the 16 year old having committed those murders? Varg's ex girlfriend, played by Line Verndal, also complicates things.

Director Stephan Apelgren made the straightforward action/crime novel investigation over several years. It is not difficult to believe in the bitter and suspicious youth who have not been heard from the community before. Fans of Staalesen book is also another twist to the crime scene, which is okay since so much else has changed. "Consorts of Death" has some elements that are less credible. Veum finds evidence lying around on a gratuitous ride in the beautiful Norwegian nature.

But Trond Espen Seim has once personal motives in a case. And this time it's easy to get caught up in the fast paced chase. The humorous interaction with Bjørn Floberg as police chief Hamre also livens up.
