Weeds - Season 5 (2009)

Weeds is an American comedy-drama television series created by Jenji Kohan, produced by Lionsgate Television for the Showtime network.

The plot revolves around a widowed housewife (Mary-Louise Parker) from an affluent California suburb who becomes her neighborhood's marijuana dealer to make ends meet. The title is a play on words, referring to both the slang term for marijuana and widow's weeds, it also refers to the tendency of American suburbs to grow quickly and pervasively, with the dwellings and their residents being almost as indistinguishable as weeds; this is mirrored in the show's theme song "Little Boxes" and opening credits, and is a recurring theme of the show itself. The theme song changes in the second season. The change consists of a different version every week

Season 5 picks up immediately after season 4. Nancy is in Esteban's office with several guards and Cesar. After Nancy informs Esteban that she is pregnant, Cesar kills the guards, not wanting to let out that Nancy will be allowed to live. Nancy, panicking, sends Shane to live with her sister, Jill Price-Gray (Jennifer Jason Leigh), for his own safety. Andy accompanies Shane to Jill's house, finding it difficult to deal with Nancy's pregnancy. Esteban becomes extremely protective and loving towards his unborn son. He sends various bodyguards to follow Nancy, among whom is Ignacio, who serves as a bad influence for Shane.

Silas decides that he wants to grow in a national forest with Doug. While Silas and Doug are walking through the woods, they run into a group of men who threaten them. The men allow them to flee on the condition that they give up all of their pot. Silas gives up the pot and later draws up a new plan to start a legal medical marijuana business. When Andy receives $180,000 from Judah's bank accounts, he funds Silas's business. Nancy invites Esteban over to meet the family. He suggests that Nancy and the family come live with him so that he may keep them safe. Celia is released from the hostage situation, and with no where to go, she ends up squatting in Nancy's garage. FBI agent Roy Till, seeking revenge for his murdered partner and lover, stalks Nancy's house. Nancy, home alone with Esteban's henchman Ignacio, knocks out and apprehends Till, and chains both him and Ignacio to a bed frame. Nancy calls Esteban, whose henchman kill Till. Andy suggests that they flee as the situation has become too dangerous, proposing Nancy leaves Esteban a note before leaving. Nancy instead leaves Andy a note informing him she has moved in with Esteban.
